After the latest patch after the initial dialog options (pass or fail); no other dialog options are popping up. It appears that I am updated with Hotfix #7.

I also encountered this bug on two separate characters (tested with both),

I have this bug as well. Female Asmodeus Tiefling Warlock with Astarion, Shadowheart and Lae'zel as companions.

I had this one as well. I'm starting to keep note of all of the times the game crashes... Been a lot since this update

As Title says.
The Game seems to Softlock after the Dice Roll. Does not matter, which Character activates it.

Temporary fix is to swap characters and have them destroy the book. It will free the character in dialogue and still give you the rewards.

I had that happen. I had the dice roll and the character spoke a line and then nothing happened. If you press the space bar, the dialog will continue on and you can continue without issue.

I came into the Dank Crypt skunking with Astarian and got a dialog for the book with the chain/lock on it. I selected the rogue option: get to work with my picks etc.
The dialog then froze and Astarian is stuck in the dialog with the text about the book being surprisingly light given the size of the lock on it. However, the game did not freeze and I am able to swap over to my other characters (clicking on their portraits) and move them around... and return to Astarian... however, Astarian remains locked in the dialog mode.

I had to re-load.
Just to validate reproducibility, I tried to use lock picks on the book again... and the same result, the dialog froze and I had to reload.
Note that both times the roll resulted in "success"... for Astarian, >7.

Yea, same here. Tried with my druid, failed it and it got stuck. Re-loaded and gave it to Gale to magic open, succeeded but still got stuck in the dialog.

Just sent it to camp for SH to pen for the time being. :P

Same for me. Tried different options (arcane check and magis spell) and both got stuck

Playing Early Acces v4.1.99.8615, german version
in the "Klamme Gruft" I can't open the book "Buch der Toten Götter"
tried alle members and all different talking option, the talk never ends and the person can't do anything also "Kurze Rast" and "Geh ins Lager" is not possible

My game hangs if I succeed on an Arcana or Warlock check to free The Book of Dead Gods.

Press the spacebar or 1 and this should move things along.

This worked for me after the latest hotfix!
I put it in my pack then used Gale to open/read it. Not sure if that made a difference but the game didn't freeze as it did previously.

Same issue for me using Gale, Shadowheart and mi Druid pj. It's needed to solve this issue I think
