I don't know if it my inability to read the books (me kill - me not read) or what but I seem to be totally stumped on this and on the drug quests - quite possibly related.

Both produced hints leading to the imps but neither of the 2 imps in the first tunnel have anything all that useful to say. I am not yet able to get the somewhat scatterbrained imp to open the locked door near him either.

A map of the next tunnels shows dead imp and book to the SE. This may or may not be related. But I am blocked by locked doors from getting there (about all I've done are the western areas including the monster and the 4 rooms with identical keys - which had better NOT be the keys to the locked doors because I duplicated the key then used it up).

I don't recall and can't find any other imps to question. Where do I go next to solve the drug pusher quest and/or get the summoning strategies book?

Thanks.

Go into the room where the specimen woman Belehram is => and talk to student Dotharhar. This triggers TAx to give you the key for Maintenance Tunnels 2.

your suspicion is correct <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> - did Ansukar give your the drug quest?

Have you already gained access to the 2nd floor where you have to do the summoning training?
If not ignore the drug thingie until you've started on the second part of the summoning training.

If you don't have access to the 2nd floor yet
There are a LOT of levers around in the tunnels. 4 of them should help open the doors unlocking the doors blocking your way to the north east exit.

That was fast - thanks.

I thought I had talked to her but either I clicked on the other student twice or I missed the right question - back to try her again.

I got the drug quest and am at the point where I have been told there is a second merchant and a certain individual has been talking to imps without a good reason - also he probably sold the book I need to that merchant - he needs a lot of gold with no legitimate reason.

I'm playing hardcore mode (any death and I start a new party) so it has taken me a while to get to act 4 <smile>. This party has never lost a fight and I would love to get to the end finally.

The drug quest will be accidentally solved when you find the book.
Go after the book.

P.s. be VERY careful after you talk to the cave ghost on the next level if that is your playing style.

@Ariana: NOT the woman Belehram is important - male student Dotharhar in her room is the trigger. And NOT the other one, named Domequar - and you can save yourself the trouble to talk to junkie son Dolehar.

In case you wonder -am = female and -ar is male. Does not show up in the pics all the time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Kiya but I understood you perfectly - I thought I had already spoken to every ghost half a dozen times (Dolehar a lot more than that) but <blush> I had obviously missed one. I am now upstairs.

With my play style I am always careful <smile>. That is the idea - death means a LOT to me not just 5 minutes of replaying since the last save so I savor the triumphs more than I otherwise would and each combat actually means something. But thanks for the warning.

Hmmmm....went to the specimen room, but no woman there--only her druggie son outside the door (he IS her son, isn't he?). This is where I got the spidey leg for the first summoning test (?) I must be brain-dead.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />

Specimen woman Belehram is at 8 - her son Dolehar is at 9. And the students Dotharhar and Domequar are in the room at 8. you need to talk to Dotharhar, so Tax will give you the key.

I'm assuming, you have the 2nd summ. test from the instructor?

Your position at the moment is too high, you're north of her room.

Sigh...Belehram and Domequar are in the room, but no Dotharhar. There *is* a green dot floating off in space to the south of the room though...I hope that is NOT Dotharhar! I have had my chars get outside of dungeon boundaries before--hope that does not also happen to KEY NPCs.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

And yes, I do have the quest...

At the risk of sounding like an AOLer, I had the same problem. For some reason you can see people outside the boundaries when you are in dialogue, and I can see that one. I assume that's the person I have to talk to. Does anyone have a cheat code to walk through walls or trigger that I have talked to this person?

Unfortenately this DOES happen...
Sometimes this problem can be fixed by going to another level (or BF) and then returning. The places of the NPC's are reset then.

I am having the same problem with Dotharhar being outside of the wall. I have tried entering the battlefield and returning, going down to the pipes and coming back up, loading a previous save, even quiting the game. The only thing that has happened is that Belehram is now outside the wall too!!!! There has to be a fix for this, right?!?!?!?

I had it with other npc's loads, you have to have alot of patience. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
They do get returned to their old spot but its really random when they actually do. smirk <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />
