Ummmm... couldn't we add a "rule" that anyone posting to a thread in the Chat (Anything) section should do so in the language of the original post? Just stop mixing languages (which confuses me, too. )... ** o dear i've broken the rule already... can i get away with a fine for a first offence? **

Yeah, of course, I take chocolate, gold, gems, teeth - simply everything
Kiya

I think it's a good idea to keep the language the first post was in, if it's a thread here. Would be quite a challenge for me to see which languages I still understand

German translation:
Klar natürlich, ich nehme Schokolade, Gold, Juwelen, Zähne - einfach alles.

Ich glaube, es wäre eine gute Idee die Sprache, in der der 1. Post war beizubehalten. Wäre eine ziemliche Herausforderung für mich welche Sprachen ich immer noch verstehe.

for egin's info, there is no malay version of the game. the version available in malaysia is in english. in fact, almost all games are in english. with exception of some that are in chinese. i know of a friend who plays chinese version of disciples 2.

edit: i don't think there are enough gamers in malaysia that warrants malay version of the game. 2 much work 4 too little returns. i have great fun playing the english version & i wonder if translating it 2 malay will make the game disastrous. much has been lost in wit & tone & double entrendes when the game's translated from german to other languages, that's what i gathered.

Janggut.

The same here, in estonia. Too much work for too few people.

But, let's create estonian forum section, eee just for me

As for games in Russia, most of them (at least all famous titles) are translated into Russian. But, the translation is horrible. Once, in BG I have seen in inventory next to Bow russian translation (poklon) - to bow. And another thing is actors work.
Translating the game is the same as translating a movie. So, I try in most cases to see the game or the movie in the language it was made to get the full flavour (pls. don't ask about -Seven samurai-)

I couldn't agree more with both of you.

When I see something in another language, that I've seen before in the original English I often go like .
Also, dubbing can be hilarious. They keep the names, currency and so on in the original language while everything else changes, or fi road signs and shop signs are still in English while they speak a different language in the movie. And it's just to see fi Indians or Chinese "talk" German or French or Dutch or...
Even subtitles are often a disaster.

i know this isn't recommended, but i bought a pirated movie disc & see what's the big buzz. what i found out was that the subtitles(it's english) has totally different stuff than what the actors say. fyi, the movie happened 2 be 'about schmidt'. it's a sombre movie, well supposedly but after reading the subtitles, it became one of the best comedies of the year.

i guess that's why pirated cd's are so lame...... .
