This happened to anyone before? Crash to desktop while trying to repair weapons?

at least not with me.

Did you try anything to fix? If yes what? Do you have the latest patch?

What is your configuration?

General advise: Reinstall and try if the problem is still here. (Copy your savegame for this...)

It happened to me a few times, but reverting to a save a couple minutes earlier pretty much cleared that up. Some people who have had problems have found Repair to be more reliable when the item is in inventory or on the ground, rather than equipped.

Another tip to avoid the crash:
Drop your equipment and repair it on the ground.

talk of overheating, yes, i ran into those just last week.

a student of mine had a prob with his system & that most apps, especially 3D games couldn't run.

turned out that his geforce 4 mx440 card (the el cheapo version) had only passive cooling(plain heatsink with no fan).

my suggestion is that if u do have an old processor(like amd k5, pentium mmx) lying about, take its fan & screw it into your graphics card heatsink.

be careful & don't bend your card too much when screwing in the fan.

if u don't have a small fan like that, then time to go to your nearest computer shop & ask if they have any. or maybe u should ask your friends or cousins or ...

hope that helps though not much.

Dont laugh at this but my video card is a GeForce 2 PCI slot card...my brother is sending me his old video card which is some type of GeForce 4 which he said would work better because my computer takes AGP type cards, not PCI...

I have a GeForce 2 MX PCI video card. I'm planning on using the release of Riftrunner as an excuse to upgrade.

hello crazycereal, i don't laugh at people because of their computer components. i usually laugh at them when they made a fool out of themselves.

still, PCI-based card shouldn't give u any problem at all when it can give u display on your monitor.

raze, keep that old card as u may need it for game tests.

to be sure of the heat problem, open up your case covers & touch the heatsink. anything hotter than warm is bad.

Yes several times, especially it you are in a melee combat..

RE: Nvidia MX440 heat problem, the MX series of cards are overclocked, this is why they overheat, regardless of if theres a fan on it or not, if you use an mx card i suggest a exhaust card right next to it, to draw air away from it as fast as possible.

Or grab a radeon or one of the later fx cards, 5600 or 5900 these are underclocked and dont over heat. The fx especially.
