the world-event is a great armageddon... there is another Diablo... called Über-Diablo... it's more powerfull as baal an Diablo together... he is monsterlevel 110 and drops the only unique small charm called Annihilus. It happens only in Hell... stay tuned <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

@ Eolis. I started a hardcore character, but I got buisy working on my fansite for <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> and she expired! OOOPS! Any how I would like to start another soon. I need to play with people I trust, so I was playing her alone. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> As there were no others here that I knew of that had hardcore char's.
@ Shyon, JVB and I have played TCP/IP on my home puter as server. If you would like to play at "my" house let me know! The same goes for my other friends here.
At least on my puter you don't get lag and the server does not shut down. Although, there have been occasions of timeout, but not on my end. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Wait a sec, Ladder char, and hardcore char can be made separatelly? If you own a ladder char, can you play hardcore and when? Gee don´t tell me I have to start all over again in order to play Hell! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

To my knowledge you can play non-ladder, ladder, and hardcore characters but they can't go into games with the other kind of character. In other words, your ladder character can't play with your non-ladder character (as we've already seen) same thing with your hardcore character.

Just in case you don't know - a hardcore character is one that only gets to die once. If it dies you can't play it again. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

In single player (on your own computer) you can't create a hardcore character without having made it through Hell. That doesn't seem to be true on BattleNet. I have a hardcore character and I haven't made it all the way through there yet.

But when I tryed recently to start a ladder char, I did not have the option for hardcore. I mean I enterd b-net and instead of using my existed chars I created a new one. The only options I had was

1. Expansion Char
2. Ladder char.

I have checked both of the boxes.

Then in B-net In creating a game I had

Ladder
Hardcore ladder and some more I don´t recall right now. But the only active option was Ladder. I could not have hardcore.

Why is that? Did I do something wrong?

you can only play hardcore when you killed Baal the first time in Softcore modus... That means you must play a normal game to get the Option for Hardcore... play it fast... so i could have a Team for hardcore as soon as possible <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Sorceres - lvl 65 - Fire and Cold

Barbarian - 30

I'd love to play (very carefully) with you guys in hardcore (no rushing the characters). Of course the hardcore game doesn't seem to have been made as hard as the normal ladder - or is that just my imagination?

I've played 2 types of assy at the moment.

trapper: Max lightning sentry, death sentry, fire blast/shock web, shadow master.
1 pt in most of the shadow diciplines, specifically mind blast and fade, more in fade if possible.
Basically place traps and spam mind blast to keep enemys stunned. Or you can use cloak of shadows and they all stand around like lemons and get fried!
Fire blast will be useful in hell when you meet lighning immunes. It also gives 1 extra shot per 3 lvls as a synergy to death sentry and lighning sentry.

Good gear is:

+3 trap claws, can be bought from anya in hell (or even nm) or bartucs cut-throat.
+skills charms (specifically traps)
any other equipment that will boost your skills.

Kicker: This assy uses maxed dragon talon(finishing move) only for most attacks. Don't bother with any charge-ups for this.
The basic idea is to get the biggest, clumpy boots you can find and kick the snot out of your enemys.
So, the other skills you need...
dragon talon: max
venom: max
shadow master: max
fade: max

1 point wonders are: cloak of shadows, mind blast, dragon flight, burst of speed.

The best boots for this build are myrmidon greaves, (elite greaves) allthough I do fine with mirrored boots. (elite light plated boots) Which will give you on average 140 kick damage base. Str and dex both help increase kick damage.
Speed kills: you have to try to get down to a 7/2/2/2/2 attack speed. This is frames per attack. Diablo 2 runs at 25 animation frames per second. So with a fast weapon (greater claws) and some increased attack speed you can kick about 10 times a second with maxed dragon talon. If you use equipment with crushing blow you will become deadly.
+ skills equipment ain't too important. I may help you to get another kick with a higher lvl of dragon talon however. Dragon talon recieves 1 bonus kick per 5 lvls I believe.
Anyway, I have an absolute blast with my kicker. The most fun with any assy I've had yet.

Womble, I have a low lvl assn on east coast realm. I don't play her much but she is there.
My girl
I drop about 10 points in claw mastery,10 in weapon block,3 in shadow warrior (you want to hold out for master that has all assn skills)10 in shadow master when available. I like Blade fury. Took out alot of badies from a distance with that. Wake of fire.! Yeah roast em and toast em!
Dragon Talon is more powerfull, but I choose dragon claw instead, as it takes less mana.
