I have a few questions now that I've finally made my way to Stormfist Castle, but first I have to say one thing about Duke Janus.

I really hope there comes a point in the game when Kuarage (my female survivour) gets to bury Slasher in his fat ugly head. Janus si very lucky for two things a) he's ficticious and b) he never went to my school because if he did he'd be one of the kids that was forced to give up his lunch money to the biogger kids and he probably would have set the record for most amount of butt kickings and being on the receiving end af many swirlies...

Rant aside, here's my questions:

1) Why can I not use my lockpick skill? This is aggravating because there's so many locked doors and chests and there's no in game explanation other than "Hey pal, stop trying to use your lockpick skill because you simpley can't." I see no reason why shouldn't be able to. It's as goofy as the time I tried to get Kurage to go to sleep because she had only a meager amount of health and zero mana. When I clicked on the bed she goes, "This is no time to sleep!" I yelled back, "IT'S A PERFECT TIME TO SLEEP! NOW GET YOUR BUTT IN THE BED, WOMAN!" Pheh, women!

2) Why can't I pickpockets on anyone? Everytime I try, whether it's a guard or some lowlife peasant, I get caught. I did an experiment and used an editor to boost my pickpocket skill up to five and she's supposed to be able to pick the pockets of anyone up to level 30, but she can't even pick the pocket of a blind man in a wheelchair...

3) What's the Rate stuff? I recenlty acquired the regeneration skill and it says that Kurags will regenerate at a rate of 12. 12 what? 12 seconds? 12 minutes? 12 time units? Basically, I just want to know is how many hitpoints she is currently regenerating in a clear and concise explanation (ie X amount of hitpoints per second.) Also, how long is a time unit anyway?

You do get to kill Janus later in the game.

You can use magic in the cellar of the building in the north west corner of the castle complex. Carry the chests there to be opened, or toss them out the front gate or over the wall. There are a couple keys around, as well.

Try standing behind NPCs and maybe use your sneak skill or a shadow potion before trying to Pickpocket. Tingalf can be pickpocketed with level 4 or 5.

Level 1 of Survivor's Instinct gives you 1 hit point every 12 seconds (1 time unit = 1 second). This can be handy to top off your health whenever you drop off loot or trade, but needs to be maxed for best effect.

Any particular reason I can't use magic *in* the castle? I only ofund one key and that was for the armoury where I found a really kicking shield, though I don't know if I'll be able to get it again because the game messed up and it stuck me in a cutscene mode even though the cutscene was over, so I had to quit the game.

Also, how do I get my teleporter stones back from that stupid Imp?

Do items left on the ground disappear after a while? I ask this because during the cut scene where the orcs attack and Janus has you tossed out on the streets there were quite a few gooodies left laying around that I wanted to grab.

Also, what's the highest rating charm you can get?

I found an arrow the other day when playing the game. it doesn't list any properties, but I can equip it as a weapon. When I do so, Kurage goes invisible as long as he's standing still, but bad guys can still see her. By invisible, I mean she disappears from the screen.

I can attack with it, but it acts like my fists.

Any idea what use this is, if any?

As far as my experience goes (and it doesn't go very far, which means I may be wrong) arrows don't do anything reasonable - they just are. Don't ask me why anyone bothered to place useless items in the game...

Hmm all together in my last game I found 5 arrows, at first I thought "Oh blast it don't tell me I need to buy arrows now" then found out that you don't need arrows, never bother to equip it (hah! don/t even know if it would equip in the shield slot or what) eventually got to the wastelands and still hadn't used it, so I sold them, and figured that some Bowman once had practice sessions all over Rivelon and didn't bother to pick up his arrows.

Then I chucked the whole arrow thing in with plates, dinners alchemy sets and other cosmetica.

In short my feeling they are just cosmetic items to make the roleplay a little more realistic.

Like in Daggerfall, if you got shot with an Arrow you would eventually find the thing in your inventory, as in you cut out the offending and sometimes painfull arrow and re-used it on someone else until it wore out

The arrow I found was stuck in a rib cage that was laying on the ground.

I thought when I pulled it out a Troll King spawned, but I guess it was just timing and the creature walked up on me as I was pulling it out. After killing the Troll King he dropped a bow, so I thought it was his arrow.

Well that's some sort of explanation:
Once upon a time in a land far away which was called Rivelon there lived a Troll King who in his spare time between looting people, started to practice bow shooting. As he was a king he didn't bother to pick up the arrows he had already fired. Unfortunately the troll king never became an expert bowman because he was slain by some adventurer who was passing by the King's cave..
Doesn't make much sense, but then again does it have to make sense?

I think you may be onto something because this was outside land near the Archer's Guild!

Maybe a young Elven archer bored with target practice ventured out seeking something better to shoot at. Being careless he was startled by the Troll King, causing the young Elf to drop his bow and run away in fear.

The Troll King scared me when I saw the damage he could do.

Guess you're not the only one that something strange has happened with an arrow.

"I found an arrow in the skelleton of a dead animal with my warrior and wizard.
when i take it in my hand with my wizard, he starts jumping, my warrior gets invisible when he stands still

what does this do?"

This was a post titled Weird Arrow in the Helps/Tips/Tricks section. No one seemed to have an answer other than the arrow holding no importance.

I just battled all the way through Ilona's dungeon and killed the sea creature looking guy, Cyrion or something. However there's a chest down there I can't open, does anyone remember where the key is?

I found a composite key on an earlier level of the dungeon but I never used it, does anyone know what this is for?

With the Resurrect skill active, moving the cursor over the body of an NPC should pop up a name/class (orc, etc). Right clicking will bring them back to life, with a friendly alignment. If you leave the area they will turn hostile, and you can return to kill them again. Otherwise, you can use Aura of Command to get them to follow you.

There is/was a skull on top of the chest; drag it into your inventory, and try the chest again...

IIRC it was for one of the cells in the south part of that level, opened a cell with a ghost in it.

Hm, I don't remember being able to click on the skull, but then again it's usually hard to click on an objoect that's resting on another moveable object.

Alright, guess I know what my next skill will be, Aura of Command. I managed to do what you described about bringing a monster back to life, but I couldn't get him to do anything other than just stand like.

In Reply To Kiya

I guess maybe she did use it then, because I've explored every area in the dungeon. I just never heard her say, "Fantastic!" like she always does when she uses a key on something, or I might have just lockpicked the door.

I have too many keys in my inventory to know what goes to what.

If you talked to Rob, he should have flagged the entrance in the sewers for you (zoom the main map out to look for the flag). It is east and a bit south of the poor quarters sewer entrance. Rivertown sewers screen shot.

I don't think I could do that, to be honest. Not with a survivour, anyway.

I just found the large gap between our levels to be amazing. Then again, I have done a lot of random killing and making sure I've killed every baddie I come across.

when u walk into the barracks(north) in verdistis, just go into the building & there should be a few tables u can see. one closest to u, i think is the commander's. one way to find out is to go towards a table & click on it. if u see finnigan's magic lockpick, u know u've hit the right spot.

hope that helps.

Could someone please tell me just how close I am to getting my teleporter stones back? I just got out of Ilona's dungeon and just joined the Thieves Guild. I'm finding it really annoying to not have them because I didn't know I would ever lose them and thusly I have treasure scattered all over the areas I've been to and I would really like to get rid of it.

if u can list the current quests u have on your active list, then maybe i can help u gauge how near are u from getting back the teleporter stones.

but my guess (from the part where u mentioned u just joined the thieves guild)is that it'll be quite a while before u'll get the stones back. so be patient & get used to walking.

if u have a savegame prior to entering stormfist, & if u don't mind replaying stormfist quests as well as trudging through iona's dungeon all over again(better not), then u can skip stormfist & finish all available quests outside of janus's home. this means the dark forest & verdistis.

i know it's not much help. sorry.

A few quick questions.

1) Does feign death actually have a purpose and if so, what are some good times to use it?

2) I've collected the three strange items (the dagger, the amulet, and the big sword) now what am i supposed to do with them?

3) I've rescued Zandalor and have even gotten the elf to join the council. What's the quickest way to get my teleporter stones back?

1) Does feign death actually have a purpose and if so, what are some good times to use it?
yes, it's for gareth, the dude in the barracks who longs to go back to his girlfriend, isolde(i think) in farmlands. go talk to him if u haven't.

2) I've collected the three strange items (the dagger, the amulet, and the big sword) now what am i supposed to do with them?
the holy weapons. or something like that. what u can do is to find the entrance to an underground chamber which is located northeast of the church(which itself is north of the haunted abbey, or it south?). u shouldn't touch any of the tombs in there. & place each of the item in the circles(look at the floor). then u get to choose which item that u want to keep. the chosen item will be rendered useful & powerful but random in stats. u may want to save prior to choosing.

3) I've rescued Zandalor and have even gotten the elf to join the council. What's the quickest way to get my teleporter stones back?
solving this quest. get all the seven members of the council together & u'll see the teleporter stones sooner.

hope that helps.

In the council hall, the imp who 'borrowed' your teleporter stones is in the room west of the gong.

The Feign Death skill (rather than potion) is mostly useless. I never tried it, but from what I have read, monsters are not in any great hurry to wander away after you use it, so it doesn't really help to fake death when you are about to die but can not run away.

You can leave the south west and north east levers in their original positions. Just move the north west lever down, then the south east lever down, then the central lever down. Sir Patrick's mansion - levers

I'm done assembling the council of seven, I just want to finish up some quests before I go through the ritual since there's no going back.

Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Also, where exactly is the teleporter in the farmlands? According to the map there should be one, but I can't find it.

Ach, well just go to the Dwarven jeweller in the Dwarven Halls (Elmer Vignus). Show him a copy of that necklace, he'll fake it.
