Well, I must confess...

I had never even heard of Divine Divinity.

I was in a game store looking for 2 games that I had read about and weanted to give a try when I couldn't find either game on the shelfs.

Discouraged, I browsed around and a box cought my eye. Divine Divinity was the title. Strange title I thought to myself. How good could this game possibly be?

After reading the back of the box I was intrigued. I thought, What the hey, I'll give this a try. It sounded too good to be true.

I took it home and installed it and found that this game is great.

I was not expecting a game of this caliber at all. I am really impressed and was wondering how this game evaded my gaming radar.

I subscribe to 2 pc gaming mags and a third general gaming mag and have never even seen the title before.

Strange, isn't it?

All I can say is that I hope more people become aware of this game and enjoy it as I have been doing. I am only a little way into the game ( searching fo rthe Slasher Axe) and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

After reading some threads on this forum, I know that I will continue to enjoy and become addicted to this game.

Thanks to all of you who have helped me out and have fun,

Pystal

Welcome to this Forum !

If you have any questions regarding the game, we're glad to help you.

My first advice - anyway - is : please install the latest Patch !

I recommend this because of (mainly) two reasons :

- It fixes bugs,

- If begin the game, you won't be able to use the savegames of the original 0.99 version with later, patched versions of the game. So I thnk you should patch it rather early before you are too deep into the game.

For the English version of the game (release version 1.29), you can install the patch at any time, but some of the changes and story fixes only apply to new games.

This has got to be the first time that Divinity's redundant title actually attracted someone into buying the game.

lol

Yes, the name was rather odd. It sounded almost amaturish i guess. Well, as they say... you can't judge a book by its cover. Thank the gods for that quote. I would have missed one of the most fun games out there.

minor SPOILER ahead...

I am now in the next area. I crossed the bridge and am on my way to find the escort for the healers. I also have to meet up with the Marked ones at the Dwarven Bread.

I am having a blast. When I was in the catacombs, a cutsceene happened between two skeletons that was hillarious. It is these simple yet fun things that break up the game a little. This is one of many things in the game that makes me want to stay up all noght and see whats next.

Well, thanks for the welcome,

I hope all of you are having as much of a blast as I am,

Later,

Pystal

Yes yes, you MUST download and install the patch. It fixes some things that could actually ruin your game!

Thanks all.

I downloaded the patch as soon as I installed the game hehe.

I am about to either go into the abby or go see the general for the escort, go to the Dwarf Bread or the other tavern.

I am torn over which to do first. Does it really matter which to do first?

Also, I know that I should have posted this question on the helps and tricks threads.

Sorry about that.

If you leave the escort quest too long, you can break it by doing one of the quests that will give you an invitation to the castle (the healers will move on their own). The abbey can be tough until you are in your late teens or early twenties for character level. Other than that, it doesn't matter which you do first.

Thanks,

I have so many quests to do now.

I just hope that I choose the right ones without spoiling the other ones. I know that you have to fail a few but I hope its not because I wandered where I shouldnt have.

I guess that I should try to look at it through the eyes of my char and just enjoy the experience that I make for myself. Sometimes I become so involved with trying to complete every aspect of the game perfectly that I forget to have fun.

I need to just play. Time is a factor but not an excuse hehe.

btw... thank you for the help. I am only lvl 12 so I will stay away from the Abbey for now. Or maybe I will try it out and get by head crushed in from some skeletons using bones as clubs or something. I can always hit reload.

Wel, have fun,

Pystal
