I have an LCD monitor that's native resolution is 1280x1024. It looks awesome at that resolution, but anything less than that looks terrible. I assume this is pretty standard for all LCDs, but maybe not. I don't understand why so many new games don't have this as a resolution choice. I've found that Divine Divinity somewhat works when you manually change the config file to 1280x1024. Actually the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the journal. Opening it sometimes causes the game to crash, and you can't change what the journal shows when you open it. It looks absolutely beautiful at this resolution on my monitor. It doesn't seem like it would be very hard to add the graphics for that resolution to the journal.

I've only had the game for a day, but so far it's great! Please add 1280x1024 resolution to Beyond, and if possible, a patch for the current game would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Well I changed the conf file to a resolution of 1400 * 1050 . The journam is a bit messed up and the zoom is fried but other then that no big problems. But I also hopr that they make this an "official" resolution.

A higher res improves the game quite alot i think, and adds detail.

It adds detail - assumed that with higher resolutions things don't look much smaller, then.

yeah, but the world mustn't get too miniature.
or it will be, when your hero fights a demon, it'll
look like an ant fighting a bug. then you can't
recognise anything anymore.

I have an LCD too and I had problem with NWN. Did not run at all. Have you played demo? Does it work on your screen? Hope it does

Lucretia: your monitor shouldn't make a difference as to whether a game runs or not -- that would be your video card. Anything that can run on a CRT will run on an LCD with the same video card.

Of course, maybe not at the optimal resolution.

For me, I couldn't run Divine Divinity at 1280x1024 because the game would crash to desktop every time I brought up the automap or journal. Beyond Divinity officially supports 1280x960, though, which is fine. Haven't tried tweaking it to get the extra height.

These limitations are pretty much inherent with games that use bitmapped graphics -- they're always more or less resolution-dependent. Hope that Larian moves to full 3D in the next round -- avoids all these problems.

Yeah, it runs, but the problem with LCD's (unlike CRT's) is that they really only look good in one resolution. If that resolution is 1280x1024, and the game doesn't support that resolution, then you're stuck with shitty graphics quality.

Wouldn't be hard at all for Larian to add a 1280x1024 mode where it's really using 1280x960, but with just some black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. I think a lot of LCD's can do this black-bar mode on their own though.

I'm running at 1280x1024 with no problems (that I've noticed so far) - I just hand-edited the config file.
