yes Thx, Lynn and don't be thinking that you already have ALL the latest drivers too!...... That's what I thought..... Wrong!! Now with the newest drivers from Nvidia....I've completed my Demo......

For people who have mobility radeon card, take a look at www.omegacorner.com to get tweaked catalyst driver.

DD ran just fine for me...loading times were long, but never any slowdown during game playtime. I had to upgrade to Direct x9, but I get an error code in Configtools invalid page fault in module SLASH.DLL every time I try to start the demo. Will try and download those drivers, see if that helps. If that doesn't work, it'll have to wait till end of year when I can hopefully get a new computer. Pass this one on down to kids. I have a Dell 700 mhz Pentium III ...

Could it be that the SLASH.DLL itself is corrupt, I mean damaged ?

Could it be that the SLASH.DLL itself is corrupt, I mean damaged ? Updating the drivers...was the ticket. It does run choppy at times, but I still managed to make my way through to the end of the demo.

I have a Dell 700 mhz Pentium III ... I had exactly the same problem, and I solved it by using nvidia drivers 44.03 (or above). I guess older drivers do not support DX9b fully. Try upgrading your drivers. If you already did it, then sorry. Good luck, Philippe

I'm having the same issues with the above poster--Slash1.dll crashing out. I have an NVIDIA Vanta card. I can't find any updated drivers there. Any help or hope?

Did you try the reference drivers directly from Nvidia? I don't think any video card manufacturers make significant modifications to Nvidia's drivers, except maybe adding their own logo (same with ATI's drivers).

well, it took a while to find, but I finally found some updated drivers and installed. I no longer get the slash.dll message, but now I get a black screen upon startup.

Thanx for putting up with me so far. Finally got the screen problem solved. I can get to the character creation screen. After I set up my character and press start, the game tries to load, then crashes to desktop. Arrgh I'm so close!

Did you try lowering the resolution in the configuration program? Re-install?

Got it working at last. Somehow while updating drivers, my display was set to 32-bit color. Once I switched to 16-bit, everything worked right.

And one more thing. Turn off Norton or any other background stuff you have going.
