There you go.

A poor translation with my poor English for the review Lynn posted from Gamesway.gr

I have a 3 level skill in Greek but I have 0 level skill in English so if you don´t understand something ask me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Few days ago we had the chance to download the Beyond Divinity Demo. The game is the continuation of Divine Divinity, the isometric single player RPG which was a great success back in 2002. Naturally everybody had predicted that the game will have a sequel and that is true. The company has already ready Beyond Divinity (demo). Like DD the new game includes an interactive world, the choice to build your character with a great number of statistics, skills and feats. If everything goes well, we expect to see the game in the middle of April. In its scenario it is mentioned that soon after the events in DD, the peace council that was in Rivellon, was torn apart and for once more chaos ruled. For once more dwarves, Elves, and Humans are in war with the Orcs, Trolls, and Goblins. The world is one step before destruction and the only solution is the prophesy by which the Divine One and some others called the Marked Ones will manage to bring order and peace.

The game begins with you being locked in Necromancer’s Samuel dungeon. You are of course a servant of the Divine One and of course you have no choice but to save the world for one more time. It is a Role Playing slashing game with lots of quests and specific story. The story line goes on in Nemesis area, a place with a lot of hostile creatures and wars. The area also includes volcanic dungeons, huge forests and a lot of new units.

The game’s graphics look alike with DD´s but this does not mean that it is not nice! Of course there are some changes such as better 3D models, much more animations and although the graphics are not the most contemporary, the isometric view is very important for the atmosphere and the details. Very positive thing of the game is the object interaction. You can drag them, combine them and you can use the torches in the dungeons. You can also open barrels etc.

In Beyond Divinity your character’s creation is based on a skill based system by which you can choose a pre-fixed class (Mage, Ranger etc), or decide on your own which skills you will develop. The basic, strength, intelligence, speed, agility, constitution and survival which we have met in the first game, are all the same here. But the rest of the skill system is modified for the better. New skills and possibilities have been added. You can pause the game during a battle and give specific orders to your companion. Many quests need you to have in your team some NPCS in order to be completed. Of course beyond the original quest you will notice that there are many other sub-quests. From what I have seen and as far as I could understand, there are a lot of dialogues in the game but not very long, which is something that supports the fast-paced action.

Also there are some areas which will be created on the fly, called the Battlefields in which you can gain extra experience. In Battlefields take place battles and of course there are several levels depending the difficulty and a variety of enemies. From there you can return to the real world of the game whenever you want. Finally Beyond Divinity’s interface has the same style with Divine Divinity but has better organized inventory.

After seeing the demo we can say without a doubt that its been made very good work and that the new elements like the party system are very pleasant additions.
