Just to clarify, and I know I'm really late to this conversation, but save before you kill the last bug if you want to keep retrying for the armor. The armor changes into the Armor of Larian as soon as you kill the last bug, you never have to talk to Sven. I tested this by keeping my inventory open on the armor section while I killed the bugs. As soon as the last bug died the armor changed requiring ID.

Sorry, Jarl, my XP is different. I reloaded 20 times before I spoke to Swen - and had always a different armour. But there is one difference between your and my procedure: I didn't open the inventory until after my conversation
Kiya

If you wish, I can send you my savegame

If you read what Sven says, he doesn't actually say he is doing anything to the armor, just that there is something special in your inventory or something. Never does it say he takes it and enchants it. However I think I realize how random stats work now, and will test this out. I guess the stats are generated when the item is ID'd, which would explain why the armor is changed right after you kill the last bug, and why you can save right before Sven and still get different stats upon getting the item identified. Previously I assumed that the stats were generated when the item was generated (shown to your character) but I now see that is probably a foolish assumption.

In other words, all you should do with items that need ID'd is save at the shopkeeper and keep reloading/ID'ing the item.

(I haven't tested this yet, it is speculation.)

Actually, if you run your mouse over an item, move it or hit the alt key nearby the properties will be set.
For items placed directly into your inventory, you need to open your inventory and identify it to set the properties. In this case, move it before saving if you want to try re-loading for something better. I got a very nice ring in Verdistis from one of the healed soldiers, saved the game and re-loaded a few times. I decided I wasn't going to get anything better than the first, and re-loaded that save... only to find that the properties had not been saved.

Raze is right. Any item that appears in your inventory is just like any that appears on the ground: random until examined. Any items that are upgraded are actually replaced. The old version is removed from your inventory and the new version added (still random).

Is that teleporter one way trip? Cause I can't sem to get out. If you use your own teleporter won't you lose it forever?

Yes, the teleporter is a one way trip (bug!). But you don´t loose your own teleporter stone by using it. Open your inventory and click on the stone and you can teleport without laying it on the ground.

I never clicked on use, as you described here Kiya, always clicked directely on the pyramid in the inventory.

However,how to do this is rather academic as long as it works.

Oh, I use "USE" when I'm too lazy to open my inventory to click on the pyramid. But for the screenie I had to show both ways - to make clear where the pyramid has to be for this option.

Explanation text on the hmtl:

If you want to leave this sector, simply click on the pyramid IN your inventory - or merely click on "use" in your pyramid task bar, if your pyramid is in your inventory. You don't have to leave it behind - if you wish to return - then drop it and click on it or use "drop&use".

Thanks again!

I wonder who found out this peculiar area? It is not that hard to find but who found out you need exactly those items? I mean, 5 Rimmer Ale and 2002 gold? The ropes I get, they are right there!

Or was this leaked by the developpers hehe Or did someone hack into the software and found out what was needed?

I kind of like these sort of things. And it is good it is very hard to get into.

What I didn't get is much of what these characters in there said. As if they were speaking another language hehe

Bronthion/Larian Studios gave this away - German gamers were suspicious because of all these ropes and had already seen the Easter egg are (ground lvl) - and had the suspicion that this teleporter stone was leading somewhere else.
The Rimmer bottles were originally meant for this quest, but the hint for that got lost in the game.

2002 => release year of - hint was lost in the game

I strongly suggest you go back to an earlier save and go from there. if you don't have the teleporter stones, let's just say that you're......screwed.

Silver armour, reward for the stalker quest/Dark Forest and how to upgrade it:

Hermit gives the quest =>

[Linked Image]

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Stalk2.jpg => the cave
http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Silverarmour.jpg => your reward

Location of the four parts of the map you need to enter the teleport area:

[Linked Image]

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Mappro3.jpg => 1st part is in a spider cave (NW of the archers/elven guild, SW part of the Rivertown area)

2nd part get you from 'Mpenzak' (Verdistis)

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Mapsew2.jpg => 3rd part in in the sewers of Verdistis in the north-east (in a corpse)

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Strobur2.jpg => 4th part is in the Dwarven Halls/SW area/Dark Forest (near the entry to the mines is a small prison - you need lockpick lvl. 4/5 to open the door/SW corner of the Dwarven Halls). The map only says "scroll" and is near the bed.

5 bottles of Rimmer ale

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Dwarvenorb.jpg
In the hall of the dwarfs lives the brother of Rimmer. You must deliver a message from Rimmer's brother to Rimmer (dwarfen village in Rivertown), then you get the 5 bottles of Rimmer ale you need for the teleport..

The treasure cave/NW Dark Forest

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Cave2.jpg => overview
http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Cave.jpg => close up pic

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Cavespoi3.jpg => in the cave. With the 4 treasure maps you may pass the cobwebs. Look for 3 crystals (moonstones) and 2 (?) keys. This is the interior design.

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Lar2l.jpg => proceed to the teleport area

To get to the easter egg area you must have this in your inventory:

[Linked Image]
1) silver armor
2) exactly 2002 gold, not one coin more or less
3) 5 bottles of ale from Rimmer (no other ale in your inventory)
4) 4 ropes (near tel. stone in that same cave, NO other ropes).
5) one teleporter pyramid in your inventory and one safely outside, so you may return, because the teleporter in that area does not work
Everything else may stay in your inventory.

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Treasegg.jpg =>

Click on the tel. stone to get to the easter egg area. In there open the 4 prison hatches and drag&drop the rope in it so you can descend. In the east there is a stairway. Kill all bugs in there and talk to Swen again. He will reward you by making Larian armor from silver armor, just look into your inventory afterwards. Before you speak to Sven after killing the bugs SAVE, please, so you can reload, if you're not satisfied with your armour stats I'd NOT advise to keep your inventory open whilst fighting the bugs, the armour appears at once and so you might have to re-do the fight if you're not satisfied.

What to do in the dungeon

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Treasegg1.jpg =>

Please save before you tackle the bugs, they're hard. In the bug area dungeon is a key on barrels (west) to open one of the locked chests in the east.

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Pyram1.jpg => returning and not leaving one of your pyramids back. If you want to leave this sector, simply click on the pyramid IN your inventory - or merely click on "use" in your pyramid task bar, if your pyramid is in your inventory. You don't have to leave it behind - if you wish to return - then drop it and click on it or use "drop&use".

http://kiya.xanlosch.de/Div_Lararmour.jpg => the Larian armour, stats are random, and it is invisible when worn.

Sorry, my provider changed in Jan.2004. As some pics are oversized, I chose to link instead in some cases;)
