Excuse me, I did not "start" insulting forum members. My first post pertained solely to DD and BD. If someone chooses to pick a fight with me, fine... if not, I won't either... so if the fanboys shut the hell up with personal attacks, so will I... it's that simple...

Beoynd that... this is a message board designed to express opinions about a product... Maybe I shouldn't give a damn, maybe I should, it's nobody's business. This is a public medium, and I choose to voice my opinion, negative in this case. And that's just how the cookie crumbles. Don't you just love Internet?

When reading this thread, I got really angry : If someone has the opinion, Sacred was soo much better than or then this person must be a notorious negator of Story and Deepness, I thought : Sacred might be a good game, but it's nothing more than H/S.

The fact that too much players concentrate on combat so much that they just cannot stop comparing it to blizzards producs is striking me.

Anywhere where there is a game which has combat in it, the people say "look ! It's another D2-Clone !" I hate this putting games into drawers !

Sacred is just another example of that. The D2-fans and German magazines insisted so long of "Sacred being a D2-clone" that finally even the marketing of Ascaron accepted that View ! You could actually watch that shift in marketing if you had been long enough on the boards !

Also, another thing that I noticed was the slowly flow of H/S-lovers into the German Forum at that time. Including the increase of stupid posts.
A forum which once had been quite a good place like this one here in the early beginnings became into a bazaar of D2-fans. They even couldn't stop applying their terms to the game.

Any time I read someone asking here while using terms that come out from blizzards products, I shake my head, vitually.

Why just can't the people look at games in their own respect and abandon the idea of having to put everything into categories ? Just because is located in a world inhabited by demons that doesn't mean it has to do *anything* with D2 !

I could write in this style on and on, but I just stop here.

The last thing I'll write down for now is : Why must every RPG be compared to products that have been enourmously successful ? Although you can tell where the influences come from, every game is unique - like the heads of the people who made it !

(Yes, I know, I'm harsh sometimes, but I cannot stop shaking my heade over that.)

Tee-hee!

I swear, the phrase "STFU fanboy" was coined specifically for people like Plowking, LUCRETIA and jvb. Yes, I know, it's not the most eloquent way to convey my feelings... but hell, it accomplishes the goal in 10 letters and one space, and it is right on the level which can be readily understood by the aforementioned three without over-straining their intelligence. People like that exist on every forum: not too bright, very lonely, desperate to look like their in-game avatars, with way too much time on their hands, and ready to start a flame war with anyone who insults the GREATEST PEOPLE ON EARTH: THE GAME DEVELOPERS.

Chill out, kids: I was TRYING to avoid the ad-hominem attacks by a fair warning, and Plowking misconstrued it as an invitation to try. Bad move But for what it's worth, I am profusely sorry for undermining the image of the people who bring your wet dreams to life, and possibly traumatizing you. Or maybe I'm not. Whatever.

Not too bright? Very lonely?
You must be talking about you. You must feel very lonely to spend your time posting huge posts in a forum for a game you do not like.

Desperate to look like my in-game ava?
I look better than the ava Marian designed (Sorry Marian ) jvb looks better too

Flame war with anyone who insults friends dear, not game developers. Because Larians are first of all friends. Several members of forum have met them.

You try too hard to persuade us that the game is not worth it. I wonder if this is your job to do so...

People like you exist in the forums. Always try to play the smart a..* to the others and try to force them his opinion.

Thanks for making me laugh

LOL, So I'm not the brightest person around according to you? :P
Then I wonder why I am on VWO, which is the highest education level in the netherlands.. and after that, I will go to the university.. I am still thinking about economics, or laws.. Don't know yet..
I am one of the smarter kids of my class, and certainly not lonely
You do know the world popular don't you
I know you won't believe me, and I don't care either..
You are complaining about ad hominem assaults.. And you are so much better than that.. but why do you do the same to me then??
I don't want to look like my avatar (a dragon for gods sake)
I have much free time on my hands, but that because I don't have to learn to much, because I'm smart enough to manage without it..
And I usually don't flame.. I didn't flame in my previous post.. I just laughed at you.
And I am still lauging at you

...And this is where the fanboys try, VERY HARD, mind you, to persuade me that they are in fact NOT as inferior as I made them out to be. Au contraire, they are sharp, attractive, popular and in every way astounding human beings.

With each keystroke, the momentary feeling of inadequacy induced by the evil, nasty, mean Damar Stiehl is fading away. They pepper their post with hurtful smilies, knowing that each tiny graphic will sting the very essense of their enemy.

And as they hammer out their respective lists of their lifetime achievements just so a complete stranger may be duly impressed, each of them mutters under their breath the mantra learned since the early childhood:

"MY MOMMY SAYS I'M COOL! MY MOMMY SAYS I'M COOL! MY MOMMY SAYS I'M COOL!"

Yep I'm impressed allright. Don't stop, please. Just remember, it's you who is trashing the board, not me. I just had a different opinion about the game. Heh heh heh.

if you're so smart.. Why don't you tell us more about yourself..
Why do you feel so superiour?
What gives you the right to feel superiour?

And the fact that your mother didn't give you any love, doesn't mean that my mother is a bad woman

At no point in this discussion I have said that I was in any way, shape or form superior to anyone involved. Moreover, I do not NEED to feel or appear superior to anyone involved.

You, on the other hand, apparently DO need to feel either superior or validated. Otherwise you wouldn't be listing off your lifetime achievements. Why would you do that? Do you think I'd be impressed? Do you think I'd want to measure up to you? DO YOU THINK I'D EVEN GIVE A DAMN?

You're digging yourself deeper and deeper in, kiddo

At this point it is obvious to me that neither Divinity and BD have anything to do with this topic, but it's simply some random guy who wants attention, and tries to get it by blurting out topically controversial slander. It's sad really.

I bet you get some sort kick out of it too, don't you, Damar_Stiehl? I also bet you do this thing all the time, which makes it even sadder still.

Fine, whatever. So you think that DD is bad, well, then it's your word against thousands of fans and hundreds of reviewers who gave the game more than 80%.

Oh, no, you've got me all figured out, Tovi. Whatever will I do

Altho you're right, I do get a kick out of this. It's nice to rile up little fanboys and fangurls and watch them run to the defense of their favorite game and their dear developer "friends".

And speaking of "friends". How do you dumbasses manage to breathe? I swear, some people need to chip in and collectively buy a big shiny CLUE. You pay them MONEY. They make GAMES for you. That's as far you can throw it. They build rapport with you on the boards so you keep buying their stuff. It's a biz-dev technique as old as the message boards themselves.

He is right in one thing. He provoked us and we destroy the forum. That is what he wanted us to do. So I will ignore that little puppy even though he amuses me a lot.

Just for the records though: you did not simply had a different opinion, but you called Marian pathetic. You started calling names people in here.

Anywhay talk to yourself. I do not like your game and your manners. My mom told me I am special but also teached me respect and manners, things that you obviously ignore.
Have fun all alone Mr. I-Know-everything-and-I-am-better-than-the-rest-of-the-world.
And carefull not bite your tongue... you will be poisoned.

Correction: I said that thanking people for not pirating the game is goddamned pathetic of Larian. It's damn near disgusting to see how far a company would go in kissing the customers' asses to sell their junk.

Your sarcasm is burning my retinae. Oh, the pain. It is unbearable. Someone stop this torture. Arrrgh.

Owboy, this is leading to nowhere...

@DS: Really sorry that we didn't create a game to your likes, maybe next time better? You know what: I don't bother, maybe you should do the same.
