This can't be LOL, I played the first Divinity out without much problems.

And now I play Beyond and up until this point I searched EVERYTHING (except 1 room I couldn't reach yet) and did EVERYTHING, and I don't seem to get past this point :

Come on, this can't be ! I'm playing the game on the second dificulty (not very easy but action I believe). And I had not much problems so far, but I can NOT beat these guys, the 2 level 2 skeletons are no problem, but those level 5 mage skeletons are just too much ... they just keep on blasting those earth spells at me and they run so fast I can't hit them since my characters seem to be so much slower then them (yes RUN is activated). I mean, I did everything up until this point, so I must be at the right Character level ... I already loaded this scene like ... +15 times, and EVERYTIME I die, no matter what I try.

Trying to take these buggers out with bow and arrow is also unpossible since the damage I do to these guys seems to be neglectable ...

Thinking that I hadn't done everything, I went to look further back and I met these 2 friendly chaps :

2 lvl 6 Stone gargoyles, ROFL, they even killed me FASTER then those 2 mage skeletons ... come on ...

Both of my characters are level 4, main character is a warrior, and DK is a mage ... (which I obviously shouldn't have done ...)
Stuck now, at beginning of game LoooooooooooooL, even Ultima 8 was easier ROFL !!! And I'm no RPG noob ...

The encounter with the 2 gargoyles can be avoided: just don't go near that chest! As for the skeletons, concentrate on one of the mages at a time, and use potions to heal. Deal with the melee skeletons after killing off the mages. I had major concerns when that lot popped up as well, but the battle went surprisingly easily.

Er--and not to be too much of a critic, but shouldn't this thread be under Help/Tips/Suggestions?

It took me 2 tries to kill those gargoyles on Tactical difficulty. It wasn't that hard but you definitely have to use a couple of heal potions. I'm guessing you haven't spent your skill points well or at all. At that point I had my deathknight with one-handed slashing..damage +1 and accuracy +6. I figured since damage over +1 wasn't much of an increase, I'd make sure I was hitting a lot. The other room I had no issues at all with though. Have you gone to the battlefields at all to level up some?

Best to avoid the gargoyle if possible (dont go that way) but if like what happened to me and you get stuck in a situation where they are waiting for you by a stair case for you to come down then I pity ya!!

I managed to kill them though by running away and getting one stuck and so I could tackle one on his own...even that was tough! But with enough potions I got them both!

If you have a 2-handed weapon use it on them, a crushing weapon if you have one.

As for the skellys....do the jitterbug! Run heal hit run heal hit!

Beyond Divinity can really give you immense satisfaction when you defeat an annoying/hard/impossible/bugger of an enemy.

The only mobs I hate are magic users, because imo, they run away TOO fast. They cast and run, cast and run and I don't even have time to react (not everyone has fast reflexes ). Later in the game they are extremely funny however, because they basically suck compared to my 'luverly' weapon. THAT is pleasure (in BD anyhow).

Just keep trying, I too avoided the gargoyles because frankly I had no clean underwear or potions. There's no harm in running, it's a strategy in itself. Remember the saying?

"He who fights and runs away... lives to fight another day."

Thank you guys all for the help (maybe this should indeed have been in help/tips/tricks, sorry!)

I'm gonna trail back and look for more potions, guess this'll be the real problem, not having enough potions

Just kinda got depressed when encountering them, they run SO FAST it's amazing ! The 2 normal skeletons are 0 probs, but those mages GRRRRRR !

Anywayz, it's probably me just wanting to go on too fast and having little patience

I'll get you skeletons, even if I have to die of old age to do it

Here I come again !

Unfortunately your situation will get worse. The hallway you have to go down to continue the game is blocked by FOUR skeletal mages. It's not too far away from where you're fighting now.

I found it impossible to do on "Action" difficulty with two melee warrior characters. They run around way too fast and kill you before you can manage to take out 1 or 2 of them. I restarted the game because of this point

Second time around I made one of my guys and archer... which made the game MUCH easier. Put the archer on aggressive, have him as your second character, and poof! You got Diablo 2 with an archer hireling. He easily took out the pesky mages because he didn't have to run around all over the place to catch them.

I just ran away. At this section of the game I didn't know what 'Aggressive mode' was, what archery skills were (hadn't learnt) so I missed a lot and I was basically too chicken to experiment. So I ran, and ran. Until they got stuck somewhere and I could pass.

Side Note: I've often noticed guards rule later on. Getting chased by a hostile? Just lead them to an area with invincible friendly mobs. Slice N Dice, no exp but i'm aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiive. *sigh*

For the fight with the skeleton mages; if you leave one character down the corridor, and bring the other up until they are seen, you can run back leading 1 or 2 of them to your other character. By the time they get there they are out of stamina, and they are much easier to kill when they can not keep running away to attack from a distance.

This might work for the statue room as well, or could at least split them.
