Ok I'm in the Imp village, trying to do the lost spider quest. I picked up the cremes from the alchemists hut. I apply the one that gets rid of my scent, and approach the "escaped spider". He's still hostile, and attacks me anyways.

I've tried using just the scent removing creme, and all of the other cremes together. Nothing works...he's always hostile.

Anyone have any hints?

This is strange - I didn't pick up the creams - but only clicked on the white one (this is correct). And the spider was happy with me. Did you tickle it falsely?

BTW, who had the creams in the inventory? The DK or you? And WHO applied the cream? Who was leading char?

I picked up the cremes, had it in my main characters inventory, and applied it. Got the message from the Dark Knight that I didn't smell anymore.

I didn't even get the chance to tickle at all, it was hostile from the get go.

The only thing I can think is... did you approach it earlier in the game, without the scent? so, it was hostile already? I don't know if it turns back then.

Or, did you apply the cream too late? And now I'm out of clues, sorry. I assume, you have the quest from the spider herder, right?

No, I never approached it until now. And I saved before I approached him; so I could try all sorts of different options with the creme.

Maybe when you pick up the creme, you disable the flag that makes you non-aggressive to him?

I understand you very well - this one is really a hilarious quest. I don't know about disabling - I only know this => I had one situation in Act 3, were drag&drop (you did that?) maybe busted a quest sequence. I never found out what I had done wrong - stupid.

So you saved BEFORE even seeing it on the screen? Or did you see a red cross on your mini-map already?

if you are patient - could you reload up to the point where you stood in front of the cream and just click on the white one? Oh... and if you are in experimenting mood => the one making you feel refreshed => does it give you an agility boost?

Well, I saved after I picked them up and carried them around for awhile, unfortunately. So, I can only tell you what happens when I click on them now, when they're either IN or OUT of my inventory.

Ok, the one that was supposed to make me feel agile, did nothing (it said it made me feel agile, but no change). Same with the flowery scented one, which I supposed was damaging, yet it did nothing.

And I saved before the red dot appeared; basically right outside of the Imp Hero's house (a little while away from the spider).

Yes, imp hero's house is safe away enough - I'm sorry. You can complete the quest as failed though - by killing the poor Little One and reporting this to the herder. It clears your log, that's all.
I never experimented your way, just clicked on the white one.

And thank you very much, for your experiments - I haven't verified Act 2 atm for EV 1.42, I'm in Act 3.

Did you try going back to the spider rancher and talking to him again?
I picked up the creams and carried the odour removing one with me until reaching the spider (wanted to try approaching him without it). I saved as I got close, approached, re-loaded, used the cream and was able to complete the quest.

I encounter another problem. Just came back with the little one to his dad's wigwam, where the latter says to put it back with the others. Here the game freezes. My controls are gone. The heroes are waiting as is the spider, but nothing happens. I only can quit the game with the escape.
What now?

Try leaving your DK somewhere else, and just approaching with just your hero. Someone else found that this helped with a hanging cut scene sending the imp hero back home to his wife.

I need to enter the wigwam to talk to the farmer. Whenever you enter somewhere with one character the other one will be there as well. They are soulforged you know!

Oh, right. He moves outside after you bring the spider back, and I got used to him being there.
Did you try doing something else first, then going to the spider rancher? That may help.

I had the same problem with this quest. I picked up the cremes for later use. Once you do that you break the quest. I am patched up to 1.45 and still picking up the cremes breaks the quest. I had to return to a save game several days before and replay this quest. Just using the cremes as they are on the table works. I got the message menu that the spider came over to me. This is one bug that should be fixed. Quests should have a "tree" of variables to be able to finish them.

I have the same problem and it pisses me off to no end. I've gone alone, with no weapons equipped and the damn spider is still hostile.

I picked up all the creams, used 3 of them and carried the white one with me until just about reaching the lost spider. I then saved and let him attack me, reloaded, used the cream and completed the quest.

I just did that, and when I put on the white cream the spider actually comes out of the unexplored part of the map and attacks me.

I had the same problem. What worked for me was instead of tackle him right i tackled him left( after a lot of trying with the potions), and the problem was solved. Later on i talked to the spiderfarmer and then he said that ( after dialog option "if anything else strange happend" or so)he had problems with directions and he couldn`t tell you if your hart is on your left or right side. So try this out if everything else failes. [color:"black"]

I'm very curious, Utumno - could you possibly rar/zip your save (best is one, where you didn't approach the spider and still have the creams in the alchemist's house) and please sent it to

kiya1@t-online.de?

I'd like to take a look at it - oh, and I need to know your patch version, please. I have 1.42 - 1.44 - 1.45 on different partitions. thank you in advance - as it is 2.18 am here, I can only look at it tomorrow night. Would this be ok?
