Hello,

I just don't get the option to offer the rum (gotten in the kitchen) to the guard... is there something I'm missing, or doing wrong?

I had this same problem before. I've started over, and am almost to Bram. If anything is different than before, I'll post. Someone please help us!

Do you have the quest to steal a book? Did you go through all speech options with guard Kegan? After you got the rum and speak to him again => he should have it. Or you should see your sentence: "Interested in some white rum?"

Sorry, the white rum is not in the kitchen . It's in the officer's mass (correct word?) The room where you had the chess riddle.

The only book I've been quested to find was from the Medical Merchant (the one who sounds gay). That book was in the spider's lair from level 2.

Where's the quest you're talking about gotten?

Merchant Tully in the drill grounds - EAST of the infirmary and the gay medic.

"Steal a book".
(Sheesh, I should paint my thumbs in east and west) - sorry. EAST is correct.

I heard you cant sell quest items, but I think I did a no-no and have lost the stupid white rum somehow <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> maybe I drank it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" /> I hope I have a save not too far back.

You can also pickpocket the key from the guard, or remove your armour so he turns hostile and kill him for it.

Raze, I don't think, you can pickpocket keys anymore <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> - was changed <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" /> (quest items). Or did you try that out with 1.44?

The key is classified as a quest item? I didn't try pickpocketing it.

EDIT: I checked, and the key can not be pickpocketed.

I concluded, Raze => I tried to pickpocket keys in Act 3 - and couldn't. Same for Act 4 => nada in newer versions. So I thought, this was the same for Kegan's key.
