probably already known, but splitting arrows are way out of balance.

I'm killing the deathknights at the actI final battle in 2-3 shots on tactical difficulty.

Also found a minor bug with the gem bag. When I go to a merchant and try to identify items, the gem bag turns blue, as if it's unidentified.
If I try to identify it with, the bag simply vanishes.
Lucky it does not permanently vanish from your inventory, so the bug is pretty minor

I've never had the problem with the Gem bag. Have you checked to see if all of the gems inside of the bag have been identified? To do that, you have to remove the unidentified gem from the bag, take it to a merchant or identify it yourself (if you have that skill) and then reload it into the bag. The whole bag was not meant to be given to merchants.

Yes, it's a minor bug - the bag merely disappears into your inventory. And crystals don't have to identified - I don't have this skill.

I just ignore this in the trader window - and if you look closely => it loses value for the traders, gets cheaper in every act
Kiya

And splitting arows are not overpowered - they are exactly as I like them - please...

Yes, Kiya is right. I opened my mouth before I understood what you were asking. I should wait and play the game through before trying to answer questions I'm not 100% sure about. In any event, crystals don't need to be identified. I finally escaped the Citadel this afternoon and found the "blue" numbers under the crystal bag. That's when I realized it must be a bug.

Sorry if the misinformation I gave caused any inconvenience.

splittimg arrows rock!
as i enter act II, i'm equiped with just over 18 thousand of them. should be enough to last a couple hours!

on a side note, i find the warrior 'weapon' threads somewhat humorous as my deathknight is pretty tough equiped with one-hander and shield, but he never hits anything because my hero has already destroyed everything before he can run up to it! he's mostly relagated to being a mule (pick up the loot, carry the loot).
as always, archery is the way to go!!

Lego, I know what you mean. Both of my characters are mages but I've trained the DK in 2handed weapons. He's got 2 points in each slot and everytime he scores a critical hit or a death-blow, I jump from my seat because the whole screen shakes. LOL And, if he doesn't kill the monster first, my character will with the splitting arrows. Man, they split up into 5 different directions.

The farther along in the game I'm getting and the more I'm beefing up my character's skills, the better the game is getting. For me, BD is one of those games I will want to play again, once I figure out how everything works. The longer I play with the skillpoint system (through lots of trial and error), the more I'm beginning to really like it. The freedom I have to make a ton of different spells is so awesome.

P.S. I have about 9,000 splitters, 35,000 normal and 8500 spiritual. I doubt I'll be running out of arrows any time soon. Go me! Woot, woot, woot!

One of the vendors in the Act 2 battlefields sells the Convert Arrows -> Splitting skill, you get 4% return for every skill point spent. Considering splitting arrows can be sold for 150 each, that's a fine money factory to abuse, plus it's more splitting arrows for the firing. Your 9k splitting arrows will likely tide you over for the entire game.

Also, look for a shadow bow -- the splitting arrows will do shadow AND piercing damage if you equip one of those, making them lethal.

I'm less generous on the skill system then you are; my deathknight warrior's so boring to play, that I just leave him on autopilot, and he runs around tanking.

I really don't notice much difference - they still deal the same damage (afaik) and they'll get the double element effect from using a shadow bow (shadow + pierce), and multiple arrows can hit the same target if they're close enough.

Balanced?
