Yeah, that bit was a bit too monty python... I think you can argue whether it's a tribute or a rip-off...

The exact movie that's from is Life of Brian, the scene where Brian gets thrown into jail with an old guy in chains who says something like:

"Ooooh you must be the favorite, I wonder why they treat you so nicely?!"
"Favorite?? He just spat on me!"
"Is that it? Hah! I dream of being spat upon! You know, just last week they finally decided to hang me up straight!"

Can't remember it exactly anymore... It went on for a long time though...

and when he is being crucified the guy looks at him from out the window and yells at him "lucky" or something.

A couple of gems I found funny in the training grounds:

--The training schedule: "21:00 Bedtime & hot milk "

--When the doctor asked if he could "borrow" your Dark Knight. If you say "yes," the Dark Knight freaks out and says "WHAT? NO!" (I thought the voice acting came off really well for that.)

Also, someone else mentioned it, but I thought the Dark Knight berating you for missing the haystack was also well-acted and funny.

Finally, when the Strange Skull asked how you thought a disembodied skull was supposed to get around. ("What do you think, we float?") That was an amusing reference to the floating skull character in PLANESCAPE: TORMENT. (One of my favorite games)

"And still I could feel the serpent gnawing the roots of the sacred tree..."

The quiz was pretty funny.

"The imp will now be "motivated" to give better answers."
"No, please! No more motivation!"

DK: "Oh, we're ecowarriors now? I hate doing favours for foliage"

DK: "Blab blab blab.. I want some action now" => reminds me of some gamers here .... (kill first, question the corpse. "I don't read, cramps my style"... "Levers? Argh! Sequence order? Logical linearity? I thought, it was a hack&slash game"... "Disguise? Which disguise? I get pissed off if"... etc)

Yeah Yeah

I'm just sorry that the voiceactors kindof ruined that scene... Someone already mentioned this, but it's true! I think a few jokes were made unfunny because of the voice acting. But then there were other jokes, which the voiceactors did seem to get right.

You've played the game, haven't you? What did you personally think of the voiceacting overall, as the scriptwriter? Did it sound like what you had in mind, or did they miss the point?

I think one of the funnier moments was when I found the corpse of Mat from the Wheel of Time series on the 2nd dungeon level of the Academy. The note was a nice touch. :P

To be honest I haven't had time...although I think I'm going to have to at some point. I didn't get involved with the voice acting side of things although now I wish I had, I would have probably been able to give the actors some direction in how I imagined certain lines being said when I wrote them.

some more humoreus moments:

all the different books some of them are really funny:
death cause of older wizards. bad memory something like that.

of the drunken soldiers. lets have peace and drink some whine. if there werent four of you we would attack you

the talking mushroom

the smart spiders spider poet

the imp hero

the dead imp in the mushroomfield with the shopping list (possible killed because the lots of ale he carried. the rest was still there)

the evil musshroom

the imp leader. DK: if the shaman tells him not to eat he would possible do that.

DK: whats that smell, after the cream: thank chaos. now i finnaly can't smell you.

the comment of the DK on the skelleton, and the meat

the rat with the bone and the man who didn't know he was death.

the man in the row before the healer oww i have broke my neck

the gay healer. if he heals you. en what abaut a fine massage.

telling the joke to the guard that may not laugh

the imp in the archery

Funniest lines: Place: After defeating Fergus in the beginning, DK wanted to kill Fergus' pet Imp. My hero let him go. Imp thanks Hero for saving him and says to DK "and may ants nest in your codpiece dark one." That was a terrific dig.

Place: Near Parcours, Drill Master spouting orders while soldiers snicker at him. Drill Master asks "what's so funny?" Soldier responds "Your shoes are on the wrong feet, Dad."

The humor in the game really sneaks up on you. And I have to admit, the gay medic is the best. I can just picture his mannerisms during that whole scenario.
