I hope i am the only one experiencing problems with Digital Jesters, but for some reason i almost dont think so....

This is the message I got on the 05 May 2004 at 10:46 AM (+02:00 South African Time) from DJ after enquiring about the status of my shipment

Your order shipped on the 28/04/04, I don't have access to your address details but for Europe allow 7 - 10 days, for North America allow 10 -14 days and ROW up to 28 days, but most parcels arrive within 14 days .

I am a bit unsettled about the fact that I have been given two VERY different dates. No apology offered, just the plain fact that you somehow managed to LIE to me about the shipping date. Other than the lie, its also very lame service.

I have pre-ordered this game before the 28th of April 2004. According to all records I have this should have been shipped long before yesterday.

AS you can imagine I have been waiting for the release of this game for a while now. And quite frankly I don’t think that this service is doing the hard work that Larian Studios have put into this game justice.

Please know that I am highly annoyed with the latest news. I sincerely hope that I will actually get my game before 28 days of my ORIGINAL shipping date (28 April 2004) and are not afterwards forced to go to my Credit Card Company and reverse the payment due to non-deliverance. [/color]

The problem in your case could be that they send the game per 'small packet' (air mail) - means: no tracking etc.
I ordered from DJ and I had no complaint at all, received it within 2 days. But it's only from UK to Germany, oh well ...
But also delivering to South Africa shouldn't be a problem.

The main problem i have is not that i havnt received it yet (although that is is a disappointment), my problem is that they gave me a date that they shipped it, and then 19 days LATER, told me, oh btw, they only sent it yesterday, not the date that they TOLD me... in otherworlds that they LIED to me about sending my parcel... and i hope that they send it by airmail... because after this episode i am in the mood for a decent fight with them.

Sorry its just not right to tell someone that "we have sent your parcel on the 28th april" and then only after further queries tell the cursotmer oh, we only sent it yesterday (after you asked us for a tracking number - and even airmail have tracking numbers unless otherwise requested). Youre lucky they even responded to you. I was going to order the fan pack but accidently orderd 2 divinity games about a month ago. Im lucky the game was realesed in america yet because there would have been big problems if they charged my credit card and shipped which almost happend because it took them 5 days to answer my emails saying i wanted to cancel immidiately. After they said they cancled I then orderd the fan pack and recieved an automatic msg giving me my order number. Well its been almost a month and ive got no emails giving me shipping number or anything even though ive tried contacting them 3 more times. I gave them my shipping number and everything. They seem to have bad service and I warn those before buying with them.

only problem ive got is waitin for it to come out in Australia
my local EB says the 27th

i have the same problem with the fanpack. an angel (i won't tell) in this forum bought it for me as a gift but it has yet 2 arrive. i'm living in malaysia, by the way.

Fan pack isn't finished yet so it will be a while (end of the month) before it is even posted to you.

I am glad to say that after that little interesting letter, i got my confirmation that the package was abroad the first plane, and arrived in the country this morning... still have to get it through OUR postage system... but thats not DJ's problem... thats a native one...

Asked them about the status of my order here is the reply:

Your order was dipatched on the 28/04/04, US orders usually arrive within 10 days so we will send you another copy.

I haven't recieved anything yet, and I don't know why he mentioned US orders (maybe because I've paid in USD), hopefully it wasn't send to to US.

Sorry i have to laug about that one.... i hope it didnt go the US either... but then again.... "there is only 2 things infinite.... the universe and human stupidity...."

I must be honoust, i am not so sure about the universe....

Lets just hope that its reaching you very soon.... but i DO think that Larian studios should put a bit of a thumb on DJ... they slacking with the delivering...

And the only place that will get the negtive effects of that is going to be Larian.

Bizare! I've ordered both Trackmania and Beyond Divinity from Digital Jesters at separate times. Both times it only took about 3 working days to get to Australia. Lady Rain, all I can think is that they decided that the first dispatch date was entered incorrectly and they sent you another copy. Or they were out of stock? It was a poor service to give you two completely different dates like that, though.

The worst one I had was at Amazon. My girlfriend ordered a DVD box set for me. 28 days passed and it hadn't arrived. We contacted them and they sent it out again. Alex got up early one morning to take her cousin to work and when she got back, the package was sitting there at the top of the staircase. It wasn't out the front of our flat, it was in a stairwell shared by seven flats. It was marked "DVD, Amazon.com" in big letters. We lived in a bad neighbourhood. No wonder we never got the first one! So really, I blame the courier over Amazon. I hope that's not what happenend to you, Lady Rain.

I also have the Fan Pack on order. I think that it isn't actually available yet and is technically on back-order. I know they're still producing the kits. (They can only sign so many a day! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> ) I've contacted DJ about this. We'll see when they can expect to send them out.

WEll i had some MAJORLY good news today... I have a friend that works in customs.... (incomming parcels), she spotted the parcel (i call that sheer luck), and phoned me... so instead of waiting for it to come through our mail system (another 5 days or so), i had to send her a police stamped letter requesting her to take the parcel and deliver it to me...

So an hour ago, i finally got my copy of it!!!!

so if you dont see me for a couple of days..... i'll be stuck in the battlefields somewhere, or sneaking up to a deathknight with some explosive darts. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party.gif" alt="" />

At least i can say one good thing of DJ.... they really JUMP when you complain... and nope, the parcel wasnt sent out twice, they only sent it on the 17th. So 3 days is what it SHOULD take to South Africa.... (well excluding our own slugish mail system)
