I bought the 2nd expansion today, HoU, question is...can i install it on the game i am playing now and will it interfere with it at all?? Will it change anything of the game i am playing, you know, add things of any interest..Oh and by the way i currently have the first two parts installed in case you were wandering about that.
In my game I am what i call "Tidying up". Trying to complete a few side quests like The Gem Dealer, The Bounty Hunter, The Werewolf Hunter and The Five Tomes of Imaskar. Then i'm off to Charwood.

[color:"red"]Warning! Warning! Warning![/color] Be sure to save before entering the gate to Luskan!!!!!!

You are going to love HoTU, spick. It is awesome. It is 100% better than the OC and even better than SOU.

Sorry, no can answer if installing HoTU will change anything in your current game or not. I had finished the OC and SOU when I installed HoTU. Somebody help spick out here. He needs your help.

yes you can install it and it won't affect any of your previously saved games. and yes, it will cause a very, very big change in your game:

it will make it a whole lot better. it will add new prestige classes, which are awesome by the way. it will open up new feats & skills, a lot of them epic ones. you can play the oc & sou with the new prestige classes, assuming you meet all the requirements. but they shine best when played in hotu. you'll go crazy figuring out how to multi-class your characters since you can pick two prestige classes without suffering any exp penalty, iirc. you will really feel your character grow in power, have better control over your henchmen, and henchmenn AI is better. in short, you can kiss your social life goodbye, assuming you have one right now. lol.

it's really one of the expansions that is worthy of being called an expansion.

p.s. good luck in charwood.

Sounds awesome Shyon. Be sure to pass the word along when you have it finished. My friends and I would love to have a go at it.

You're 100% right. Why work at building a character that you really like just to have to turn around and ditch it because everything you look at playing wants a first level character or one that is very low. It gets old after a while.

Another thing for us is, we are bored with all the low level items and spells. We'd like to be able to get past those for a change and be able to use some of the really fun stuff.

Are you making your module multi player? We vote for it to be multi player.

Good luck with it and as I said before please pass the word along when it is finished.

Shantara

With sure i'll let you know, now that you mentioned i started to thinking about the multiplayer thing, i'll talk with my team to see what can be done, right?!!
If it will be multplayer we'll have to change some things but nothing what can't be done.

One of my fav. NWN things is now the camera is unlocked, so you can even now throw it completely overhead or right down to the ground.

And yeah -- now you got more classes to pick from.

SOU was very good, but HOTU is just plain awesome. HOTU completes NWN.

You got it, MysterD.

Think we might be able to sneak Morte into NWN. Maybe he
could improve chapter 3.

Shantara

Ahhh, Morte.

He was a lovable little skull wasn't he.

Hey, you could always custom portrait him as your character.
Just use Near Infinity and extract his largest portrait from PS:T and then just use the Bioware custom portrait guide to resize the pic to the H, L, M, S, and T sizes you need for NWN.

True it isn’t really Morte, but maybe you’d like to be Morte himself!

And for how he would look in the game, the skull-head Lich in HOTU might work perfect for the look. The model's already there for us!

Shyon, the reason I mentioned the multi player aspect of your module is because there just aren't that many multi player modules out there. Even those are mainly for lower level characters.

If you and your team could come up with a good high level, multi player module, I think you would have a lot of people wanting to play it.

We're (my friends and I) with you guys all the way.

Wasn't there a high level Mod called (Sands over nercropolis) or something like that?

I know someone played it multi, but I do not know if it was made multi.

It is one of the only mods I did like.

Fafnir, are you talking about the mod: Sands of Fate I - Shadows over Heliopolis?

Yes, that is the one Shantara, thank you.

I played it single and was impressed.
I know of a girl at Bioware that played it multi with her friends.
She didn't say she had problems or not, but she liked the mod too.

It is a High Level Mod.

Here's another one for all you NWNighters....I have found these Mods on a PCGAMER dvd, A Hunt in the Dark..Honor among Thieves..Horns of Craven..Lone Wolf-Test of the Kai..The Wanderer, my question is I have never played a Mod so what is it all about? are they just small quests for fun but nothing to do with the actual game? and will they interfere with the game i am playing?
Should i just wait several months (Or Years ) untill i have played thru the 3 games???

To spick:

They are extra individual games that usually have nothing to do with and of the Official NWN, SoU, HoTU games.
That is unless they are a bridge Mod. for connecting SoU and HoTU.

You can play them anytime.
Just note that all of your saved games will be all together.
If you can remember and keep track of them all then my hats off to you.

When you start the game just choose the Other Module box and then select the Mod you want to play.

Just a word of warning, spick.

Some of the community built modules (not just the bridge modules) will ruin the ending of the OC for you if you don't already know how it ends. This might not matter to you. I don't know.

I know I played a couple that made mention somewhere in dialogue how the OC had ended. Most are safe though.

Oh, and have fun in Charwood.

to echo what shantara had said, just finish the oc first. it will also help when you play the hotu campaign because there's a bit of a continuity there.

p.s. get to the end of chap. 2 asap! you'll know what i mean when you get there.

Thanks for all of the info...all of you.
I've decided that i will finish the game and leave the Mods until afterwards.
By the way i might be being a wee bit dim here but what does OC mean?
Please don't shout at me ...i really don't know what it means.

it simply means original campaign, the single player campaign that came with the game. sou refers to shadows of undrentide and hotu for, as you might already know by now, hordes of the underdark.

hope that helps.

We wouldn't shout at you spick.

I had to ask too when I first started playing NWN.
If we never ask, we never know.

Oh, and alot of people just refer to HoTU as Hordes.

I shall post my Character Stats later on, i am interested to see how he compares, he has a lot of goodies on him from listening to the Henchmans quests for the 2nd time and also listening to Aribeths sob story, for which i got a ring, and also listening to Aribeths dark mate, can't remember his name, but he used to be a Pirate of some sort.
