Well it could be the case that you both didn´t understand the game. Morrowind has an intense story, the game is kind of a story itself. However all is hidden. Read the books, talk to people. Many many NPC have their own background story, there are no restrictions you can do almost everything.
The main quest is very intense and I love the ironic moves in it´s story line. Graphics were nice in the original game, but now they are even much better due to lots of great plugins.
The story is what I never could find. I read every book I could get my hands on
and I talked to everybody I met more than once. I kept going back to them to see
if they had any new information and most of the time they didn't. It all had to
have been hidden very well because I gave it a good try (level 33/34).
That was another thing. I could never figure out just what the main quest was. I
could never figure out what I was suppose to be doing other than just running
here to there and back again.
I didn't like Morrowind's 1st person perspective either. I like being able to see
my character and see what is going on around them.
I am glad you enjoyed the game, bernhard. I know some other people that did too,
but for me it just wasn't any fun.
Do you guys think Oblivion will be any better or do you expect it to be about
like Elders Scrolls?
