Tried to install Oblivion again today. Installation went fine, but when i start a new game after the intro the game crashes to desktop, so i trie rebooting computer. That doesn't help, so i trie to uninstall oblivion, i get an errormessage saying to close any running applicitions, cleaning the temporary files-folder, and check the internet conection. did all those things, i still get the errror. so i remove the software manually, hopping to be able to reinstall oblivion, but no that doesn't works either. any suggestions?
P.S.: i'm startin to hate this computer.
EDIT: found a way to reinstall, testing right now. EDIT2:Reinstalling didn't work, but i was able to uninstall it whitout problems. I will download the latest driver for my graphics card and try again.

Never mind my previous post, Oblivion is running again, better then ever! While trying to find a solution for my problem i found a usefull tweaking guide. Here it is. there are a lot of usefull things in there, like one of the tweaks you can make is to show a health bar above the person/creature your attacking, instead of the half circle round your cursor. Another one of those tweaks is a program callled "coolbits" usefull for Nvidia Geforce 6xxx and lower cards. if there is anyone who has a geforce 6xxx or lower, could you try this and send me a message about how good it is, because i'm no longer allowed to 'download' stuff, unless i'm sure it's really safe. which brings me to another point: is there any one who can send me a zip-version of the official horse-armor mod. Hey guys..
Just got a new graphics card, geforce7800GS and now I'm sure that Oblivion will run great on it.
I'm way behind I know, but I have one major question.
Does it work on Windows 2000?
On the back of it it says Win XP.
BUT, on the back of the expansion (knights of the nine) it says win2000k and xp.
So does it work?

it should work on 2K as that is the basis for XP, also have a look at this page for any mods

Right then......i have had this game in my possession for quite some time and finally got around to installing and playing it this last weekend. I have had no problems at all playing it, put in the latest patch and all is fine. Started playing it and i am learning fairly well i think. Just spoke to the chaps at the Priory and now i have to go find Martin, (nice name that by the way ),what i want to know is where are the first shops and armourers and the like and have any of you out there got any Tips and Hints for me?? Look froward to hearing from you all......Toodle Pip, Spick.

best resource: wiki best advice: have fun. Do whatever you want. best merchants: the Dark Brotherhood guy Rindir's staffs in imperial city Varel Mordayn in Anvil--has $1200 Northern Trade in Chorrol But all is relative. Just stay away from the expert merchants--bad prices. I have maybe a dozen different characters--they are all fun.

If there's one thing I both loved AND hated about Morrowind, it was the mods.
Which ones are worth a download, that dont clash, and make the game better!!
I'm waiting for my copy to arrive!

I suggest that the 1st time you play it through don't use mods. After that--load 'em on 1 at a time. There are some really good ones.

I'm well impressed with this game - I didn't think it'd be this good! Nor did I think my computer would be able to play it, let alone at max graphic settings.
All hail the mighty Geforce 7800GS!!
Morrowind got really boring after a while but I think this is much more playable - hooray for fast travel.

Well, some like it, some don't. I love it, can't wait for the Shivering Isles to come out. Sheogorath looks pretty cool, crazy like hell, but cool. I finally can be a champion of a Daedric God, after doing so many errands to keep Martin and his Nine Divines safe.

Well no game suits everyone - this is the best RPG I've ever played! Beautiful graphics, so much to do, and the expansions on the way. Even better with some of the mods.
Just became a Knight of the White Stallion - sounded better than it turned out to be, went to the Stallion lodge - what a kip, hilarious!
But having people calling you Sir Knight is always nice!

And it also adds a useless faction in your factionslist, just so it can annoy you every time you want to check your rang in an usefull faction like the dark brotherhood.

Aye, plus the rubbish sheild I got from it too. Light armour?? Who needs it!
Got a much better sheild from the people in Chorral for my heroic deeds!
