Jews are humans. You are human. If they can walk the desert for 40 years, then you can wait half a month for a game to play (it's much whorse for me, it's a whole MONTH til guild wars comes out ).

üb i'm sorry but there is (at least) a difference between Wow and GW which is that Wow is a game which is out what is not the case for GW.

it means it may be a game you are paying the abonment for without playing it because you don't have the game and can't find it. I know that because it is what is happening to me... i'm not saying it's very frequent but well err... it may happen.

ok, blizzard has officially announced that the next boxes will be sold from april 15th in Europe... and it was the first time they communicate officialy about that to my knowledge (well 2 weeks after they were out of stock it was pretty time, imo)...

edit: i'm still wondering what exodus has to do with that anyway

Just wondering, where are the guys that did Everquest from? They talked about Smorgasbord, a term sometimes used in Sweden...

Jvb, I've got a new char now => female gnome rogue, lvl 15. Please, tell me which talents I should use. So far I only used 2 pts for "hiding" or is it called sneak? I've still got 3 to use and am insecure.

I can strangle now and work with sword+dagger. Or would you recommend fist weapons? (Something you put over your knuckles).

BTW, my elven hunteress is fishing expert now - I bought the expert book at the auction.

Hi everyone. I have found a web site where I can buy WoW fast, but it'sa US version. They say I have to buy game cards.

My question is: is there a difference between US and EU version and can I pay by credit card instead od buying those game cards?

After having just finished playing wc3 im slighlty dissappointed that in order to play wow you need to pay monthly....

Maybe im jumping the gun here but what exactly are the advantages of that compared to say buying a game...playing through the single player campaigns, going online and playing with others and being able to use a world editor(like i am and having fun with it!!) like wc3?

I feel that if all games choose this route then it would be expensive to play (becuase no doubt you would want to play other games as well).
Surely ths would be bad for the gamer in general?
Its for these reasons that i have shied away from other such pay/monthly games.

I would say that it looks nice though but seems to be not a strat game but an rgp.....

WoW Joke.

So, a Druid walks into a bar. He walks up to the bartender and orders an Ale. Bartender brings over the drink and sees that the Druid is looking a little down. "What's the matter friend?"

"Well, one of my spells isn't working like it used to. I can't repeatedly entangle enemies like I used to. They seem to be getting out of it easier."

Bartender looks at the Druid and frowns. "Yeah, that is rough. But it could be worse."

At that moment, a Priest walks into the bar. The Priest walks up to the bartender and orders an Ale, grumbling something under his breath. Bartender looks at the Priest and says "Something the matter friend?"

"Yeah," says the Priest. "I specialized in using wands in combat. But lately it doesn't seem like it's packing as much punch as it used to."

Bartender hands the Priest the ale. "Yeah, that is rough. But it could be worse."

A minute or so passes, and a Mage walks into the bar. The Mage calls out to the bartender as he crosses the room "Give me a double!"

The bartender has the drink ready by the time the Mage gets to the bar. "Problem friend?"

The Mage downs his drink before he responds. "My frost spells aren't working like they used to. Two different spells were working differently tonight. Almost got me killed."

The Bartender starts washing a glass and he nods. "Yeah, that is rough. But it could be worse."

The Druid looks strangely at the Bartender. "You've been saying that all night. How could things possibly be worse?"

Bartender looks the Druid dead in the eye. "I'm a Hunter, this is my epic level quest."

tragic. WoW has nothing common with W3. Ok, the world, the setting, the creatures are the same. But the game genres are very different. It is not like playing ordinary game in multiplayer, it is MMORPG.

My dear fellow Warcrafters!

I need your help once again. If everything will go as planned then tonight I will be installing WoW into my clean-uped and defragged PC

I have read some forums and been on fan sites. I will face my first choice. - My First Character. First character who will explore and learn World of Warcraft. Every nOOb has gone through this. Yeah, after hours of playing you will get to know your priorities and maybe restart and take character you like most.

But as for starter, what race/class will you advise? Will he/she be melee or ranged with or without magic? Pls. advise.

I like all of them. I 'd like to have pala, are palas good? They say, low damage output and less hps then warrior and weak prist abilities also. Maybe it is good to make shaman, but it seems that everyone having shamans or hunters.
So, what's your choice for the very first char?

A tough question, not knowing your preferences:

Your 1st choice is not the character, but the realm (= server)
- PvP = player versus player (lots of duelling, raiding)
- PvE = player versus environment (less of the above, but existent; more RPG oriented)
- RPG = only a few, supposedly purely RPG style; "play your character in line with the classic fantasy clichées".

on character:
all classes work, and overall are pretty well balanced - but the game is geared towards team building. That said:

With long range abilities:
- priest = specialist healer
- mage = specialist damage dealer
- druid = versatile generalist, can heal and resurrect, though not as well as the specialist, can have bear, cat, sea lion and (I am at a loss for the Englisch name of the fastest running land animal cat). As bear plays similar to warrior, as cat plays similar to rogue, as sea lion has unlimited underwater breathing, the fourth is a speedy travel form. Has great buffs (strengthening magic, and decent combat magic. Wears middle armor => my favorite
- shaman = sort of the paladin of the horde, though does have long distance combat spells, otherwise close to the druid, with no animal forms except a travel form.
- warlord = dark mage with conjured pets; can thus be played single better than the specialist mage or priest, as pet can serve as tank to distract aggressors - not easy to play, but challenging
- hunter = long range specialist with tamed pet (are on the servers in abundance)

melée characters:
- warrior = tank, tank, tank - OK as damage dealer, can take hits, wears heavy armor - at higher level combats requires a healer as backup
- paladin = slightly less efficient than the warrior, however can heal and resurrect; has great party supporting auras (a party of paladins could be interesting to play)
- rogue = stealth capabilities, and highest damage dealer, though at his best when sneaking from behind, which often is not easy to achieve.

If it is an issue for you - alliance : horde ratio on the servers is approx 2:1
PvP is much more crowded (even though there are more servers) than PvE or RPG.

1st character testing? Definitely something with magic to understand the principles and how to operate them. One with some melee capabilities to see how that works and for it not to succumb too easily at the end of the mana bar:

that brings us to druid, Elven or Tauren - the versatile generalist, with some extra class related quests.

I concede that this is biased by my personal preferences

Glance, that's awesome ! Thank you for information.

I will definitely go PvE, as my english is not so good for RPG and I don't know the game yet to go PvP.

So, I think, I will go after pala or druid.

As for servers, what population is better to choose? I have heard there are three kinds with low med and high population. Do they show ping? Then I would like to choose something closer to me (to lower any possible lag. I hope my 512 kb/s cable modem is ok) and maybe medium polulated will do as I don't like to wander alone.

Btw, any chance to see you there? What servers are you playing on?

With pal keep in mind that you will not have any long range ability (until later in the game when you can learn something to that effect), which you would need to separate and pull enemies out of a crowd.

- The game shows a latency bar.
- being alone even on a low population server will not be your problem. a) low is relative, and b) there'll be a few 10.000 newbies this weekend
- I don't think you can see the actual location of the servers, though I may be wrong, as it never concerned me.
- I can't judge modem (I am on a DSL-flat), but I gave my PC an extra 512 MB RAM to make it 1.024 MB => and that made a big difference.

I am playing on 'Perenolde' and 'Forscherliga', both of which are German speaking. I would not mind starting on an English speaking realm, but I prefer to play with voice chat support (I usually take my yahoo account for that). If you often play with the same people, I strongly recommend that, as it increases game fun and facilitates group interaction tremendously.
