Sub: Tips required on maximizing level

Dragon Raze (and all who think they can help)

In one of your posts you have mentioned that you hit the gong at lvl 45. I am lvl 39 warrior and only quests remaining are finding the child's cat in Verdistis (which I shall do) and finding a potion for the extra plague victim (which I can't do). I used the wishing well as soon as I was lvl 38. I would like you give some tips on how to maximize lvl before hitting the gong. From what you wrote in that specific post, it seems that you some how used the imp council member quest to lvl up like we use the wishing well (correct me if I am wrong). How did you do it?

Thanking in anticipation

Wallace

P.S.: Please save tips like "kill monesters at early levels" and "solve quests at higher levels"[;)]

There is no extra potion.
You can you use the pickpocket skill (level 2) to steal the potion from one of the two victims or just kill the victim (XP points !) for getting again a potion.

In the imp world there is a jug containing a magic item, near the imp house.

Also, if you have any Resurrection skill you can Resurrect baddies that you have killed and then you can kill them again.
After you Resurrect them you have to walk away a little ways until they are off screen; because, initially they are non-hostile, but after that they turn hostile again.

I finished the game, my first time through, at 54th level.
It's very easy at that point so if you like battle challenges I wouldn't get so high in levels.

I tried ressurecting today... but maybe I did not go far enough. Does aura of command have anything to do with this? Or maybe they changed it in the latest patch.
Anyway now I have killed almost every hostile in the wasteland (not crossed the lake yet), and I am level 47.5 warrior now. It's taking 2 blows of the divine sword to kill an imp on the average. So I am enjoying it.

Did you kill Josaphine yourself or did you use death scorpions? Level 54 is definetely divine.

The funny thing is, I never once took any Deadly Gift skills until my 5th time playing.
I didn’t realize how powerful those Scorpion Traps really were until then.

My first time through I relied solely on Freeze and Hell Spikes combined or Hell Spikes alone.
I sent Josaphine to her eternal rest with just Hell Spikes my first time through.

First time on Josie I used curse (survivor), life leech and hellspikes. Killed her in a couple of seconds. Second time I used curse (still survivors) FREEZE, life leech and hellspikes. Killed her in a couple of seconds. That style is overpower when it comes to baddies (did it on ALL the council members. It took a couple of seconds).
Never got to use polymorph though ...

Polymorph is a lot of fun and it works real good, but the down side is having to chase down all of those blasted [color:"yellow"]Frogs[/color] if they don’t polymorph into Rabbits.

Playing with survivor this time.
I think it is the most hopeless of all the three. Or maybe its just very unlucky this time.
Can't really resist finishing quests early, but still doing a good job *I think*.

I’ve played a Survivor too and I found it to be the easiest of all three classes to play.
I had her grab all 5 feats of Backstab/Assassin's Kiss; weapon Stun, weapon Lightning damage, weapon Fire damage, weapon Poison damage, and weapon Augment damage.
I only used Med., Large, and Very Large resistance Charms.
I didn’t bother with stat charms.
Playing on Normal mode the game was very easy.
The only thing I couldn’t kill was the -100% Hostile Drummers; since I didn’t take any Freeze spell feats and I didn’t use any Freeze weapons.

I agree and generally items randomly dropped are better for survivors than for all other class...

I tried again with survivor. I expect to be lvl 41 when I hit the gong. I killed all the monsters in aleroth, rivellon, verdistis sewers and the dark forest. I saved all the quests for the last execpt curing Maradeneus. So I guess that (about) 40 is the maximum lvl before hitting the gong that you can get without killing friendly characters and without recalling some fallen foes.

I also killed the thieves in the thieves' guild after freeing Penumbra. But nobody gave me enough experiance. And the Elven kid (about lvl 43) is equilvalent to killing a dragon rider. I wonder about what will be levels of elven elders?

I was unable to open all the jugs in the imps council member quest. How do we do it?

You had to find keys in that area, one of which you get from killing one of your own men.

There are 6 golden keys and 6 jugs in the bee/wasp garden, though most people can only open 5 of the jugs (only a couple people have claimed to have opened them all). As long as you got the jug which gives you enough experience points to reach the next level, don't worry about the locked one.

I remember that I can open only a few jugs there. Can I find all the keys by just pressing the alt button?

I think they pretty much all show up using the alt key. There are a couple behind or under potted plants, which need to be moved to see the key.
Kiya had to kill a friendly wasp to get the key for the level-up jug. imp world screenshot
