Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems Erratic Running

System Spec:
MB: asus a7n8x-vm/400
cpu: amd athlon xp 2700mhz
ram: 512mb
video card: integrated geforce4 MX GPU
audio: realtek alc650 6-channel audio codec s/pdif in/out interface
os: win xp + sp2
directx 9c.

Here is my story:
I format the disk -> I install windows -> Norton av -> DD -> udate windows to sp2 -> update norton => the game runs well at 1024 32-bit with sound and all.
But after some (about 3 to 4) days (automatic updates are on) it minimizes to taskbar as soon as it starts (in 32-bit 1024 mode), and I can't bring it back. It still runs in 16-bit color mode but without sound at 1024. Sound comes 640 resolution.

I also the comupter restarts sometimes (5-10%) while I am playing the game.

In the meanwhile I have started playing the survivor this time. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Okay now... the game does not even start in 640x mode! I am yet to finish it as a survivor! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

not too sure of what happens but have u tried re-installation? the next time u try please ru nthe game without anything running in the background to minimise heartaches such as this.

It worked again at 1024 32bit with sound and all. I did nothing different this time. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
