@ LaFille: I didn't follow that reasoning. If it is Boolean Algebra though, then it's not that hard to understand since a=b=0 or 1 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

How does he come to this solution (a+b)=b with this formula? (a+b)*(a-b)=b*(a-b) so here must be the mistage (the binomische Formula are wrong!)

(a+b)(a-b)=(a*a)-(b*b). (b*b)=(ab). So (a+b)(a-b)=(ab)-(bb). This can be factorized (right word?): b(a-b). That was that term, but as you, I can't see how he get's to this sollution. I think he puts b(a-b)=0, and throws the B over. But 2a=a only if a=b=0.

This reminds me of when someone in my class figured out that santa can't possiblly exist, useing sience. It's the minus of being a nature scientist <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />.

the the equation´s must call

2 = 2
2² = 2*2
2²-2² = 2*2-2²
(2+2)*(2-2)=2*(2-2)

so long the equalation ist right

but (2+2)*(2-2)=2*(2-2) is NOT (2+2)=2

separate it is 2²-2²=2*2-2*2

or in formulas
(a+b)*(a-b) = b*(a-b) = a²-b² = a*b-2*b <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Another notice, now I know how he got the a+b=b out! It was like this: (a+b)(a-b)/(a-b)=b(a-b)/(a-b). Now we just have to figure out how he got the (a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)... Let me see... (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-b^2... No, don't understand that one...

the next step they do is :

b (a-b)
(a+b) = ---------
(a-b)

but we know (a-b) = 0 (zero)

you can't devide a number by zero !!!

(a+b)(a-b) = b( a-b). Still don't get THIS step. And I allready said (a-b)=0, but that's not the point anymore!
