some of you may be able to help me ... I need some sort of proggie that can clean out the Pagefile every now and then ... I mean short of rebooting .... anyone know of one ?
Mea i don't know if this is what you want but i believe it can help:
This is to make windows unload all dlls in memory what are not in use like when you close a program the system keep some dlls loaded using more memory:
Go to regedit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
There you'll create a new key called AlwaysUnloadDLL. How to create a new key? Simple, right click in the key explorer - new - key. A new key will be created inside of the item explorer. Rename it to AlwaysUnloadDLL and change the value from 0 for 1.

Another tips:
This is for better cache L2 control.
If you know how much Cache L2 your processor have go here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\
Look for the value SecondLevelDataCache. Double click on it. In the window what will appear click on the radio button "Decimal" and type in Kbytes your value of cache L2.

Do this too, minor time to turn off(kill process).
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\
Value HungAppTimeout must be 5000 (padrão). If is not, change it. Look to for the value WaitToKillAppTimeout. Change the value for 4000.
Later go here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\
and change the value of WaitToKillServiceTimeout for 4000 too. Another thing is go to Administrative Settings(or something like this) in the Control Panel, click in Services and look for the service Nvidia Driver Help, into your properties, mark it for manual and not for deactivated.
More one thing here:
start -run - type "gpedit.msc"
Local Computer Police
- Computer Configuration
- System
- Users Profiles
- Maximum retries to unload and update user profile(double click)
Active it and change the value for 0.
If i'm not wrong this path is almost correct, if not you can find it easy.

One bar to initialize winxp Professional, works fine with the most of computers, if don't work try to change the order of your devices - master and slave - ramdon order you choose and test to see if it works.
Open the notepad and type:
"del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q" - without the quotes of course.
save it with the name - "ntosboot.bat" into C:
start - run - and type: "gpedit.msc" - only works for winxp professional.
Maybe you'll have to look for the right words here cause i don't know what is in english version but already tested on it.
go Computer configurations, and later Windows Configurations. At the right side of the screen click on Scripts (Starting/Ending).
Double click on Ending(or Turning off).
In the next window go in add and look for the file what you have created - ntosboot.bat, select it and click all Oks. Restart the pc and test it.
Clik all OKs close and restart the pc.
