Worldcraft 3? Talking about mixing World of Warcraft and Warcraft 3. But if it is Warcraft 3, what does DotA stands for?

DotA=Defend of the Aichents. Usuallu means DotA allstars, since it's the most famous verision of the map.

Maybe he should first copy the files from the CD to the Hard Drive and then install the game. I had this problem once with oblivion, which not even wanted to initialise, reinstalling didn't work, but copying the files and then installing did the trick, very strange.

Because he plays multiplayer he automaticly has the newest patch, so that wouldn't be a solution. Does this problem occur in both the Reign of Chaos and in the Frozen Throne, or only in one of them?

I'm the person Ubereil is helping, he posted this for me because i had no time when he suggested to post it here in the PC help thread, so he did it for me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm quite sure copying the files to the hard drive and then install the game would make no difference, the crashes are random it seems, i can like play the game for 45 minutes at one time and at another just 5 minutes when the crashes

Yes i have the latest patch and the crash occurs with both the games. (Reign of chaos and the frozen throne)

Is it a new disc, or were you able to play it before? maybe there's a little scratch on the disc which the installation setup doesn't notice while installing.

I played it on my 'very' old PC, and the only problem i had then, was that it would crash after about 1-2 hours of playing, but this was on an old machine and happend with a lot of games of mine.

Did you check the warcraft/blizzard forum? maybe someone else had the same problem.

Loads of pepole had the same problem, and no one knows how to fix it if those listed ones doesn't work <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" />.

How do you find out what chipset you have? We thought maybe updateing his chipset might work...

Okay last idea, some games don't work well with certain DirectX versions if you are running 9c try another version of DirectX

How new is your system? which games are you able to run without problems? Is it a illegal version?(probably not, because you're playing multiplayer) If it is, maybe downloading an other version might work.

But if no one on the forum was able to fix the problem, you're probably need to wait till Blizzard releases a new patch(altough i would doubt this, as it as getting a rather 'old' game) or wait for an upgrade for your computer.

What video card do you got?

It's a new legal CD, my graphic card is radeon 9600 series.

Although it seems i rarely get the crash anymore, i have no idea how i "fixed" this, the crash could return though, i heard some people "fixed" it and a few days later it came back, so ill just wait and see, will let you know how it turns out.

My computer works again! Thank you everyone for your suggestions. A special thanks to Raze who correctly pointed out that it could be the power supply.
1st of all I sent the Motherboard back to ASUS. They replaced the faulty onboard chip fan with a heatsink; apparently that particular ASUS mb has a known problem with the fan. They also changed out some unspellable component n-mosfet-etc. However, the computer still would not boot nor would the fans spin; I fiddled with the wires from the power supply and the fans spun, but it still wouldn't boot. I bought a new power supply and Voila: MY COMPUTER BOOTED UP! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Can anyone help me please?
I have this "Gal's guestbook" at my website, it's a free guestbook from 123freeguestbook. Some kids have posted a lot of crap in the guestbook, now I want to have that deleted. Thing is that I lost my password to get in the guestbook. Even asking to send me a new one doesn't help. I used all three email adresses I have had over the last years, none is working. The site claims that they have send me a new password, right after I send the request, they say, "a new password is been send to you" or something like that. But none of it all, I still have no password. Do I really have to get rid of the guestbook en install a new one or is anyone able to help me out here?

Have you turned JavaScript off while doing that request for a new password ?

You should write your passwords actually down.

It's a shame, there were already a lot of positive comments in the guest book, but those last few replies, I wonder, if they don't like elves, why do they even visit your site? Weird, but once i read the messages, I almost instantly tought about those teens who think they're cool because they 'destroyed' a beautifull site which (probably) took a lot of work. If you would be able to delete the most recent page, the problem would be fixed. Maybe you could try to copy all the other comments into a new guestbook?
Why don't they get a life? the only thing they're doing right now is insulting people, meaning that they don't have any friends or just want to act cool.

hmm Gal have you done a search on your PC for anything containing the word "123freeguestbook"

You might come across that email that they sent you way back when you first installed the GB?

The kids that posted those comments are teens from a class from a twin that is a member of our Fantasy Forest. The forum kinda failed and these twins kinda talk bad stuff about both me and Forestbabe, one of the boys even made a small video where you could actually see Forestbabe been killed by some character.
I can't copy the guestbook, the messages would be lost if I get me a new guestbook. And you are right, soo many nice people posted such nice comments in that guestbook, it would be sad to loose them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

My pc has been formatted twice since I have that website, so I was lucky to even have a website as some kind of back up, or all my elven piccies would be lost in the process. So I checked my pc for passwords about 123freeguestbook, but nothing found.

Anyway, thx for your help so far, I hope I will find my password soon <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

My advice : Let someone write into your guestbook how childish and uneducated these remarks are.
