Sorry for being absent..i had exams.

In a change from the above schedule im going to comment on what should be written on the personality traits(i hope we have them).
Sorryy for any typos...im in a bit of a rush.

Strength:

0-10:old men and children can beat you in a fight, your own mother is embarssed by you.
11-20:Your strength is matched by that of a teenageror several small children.Try not to annoy the kings guards...you get killed.
21-30:Usually you wear several layers of clothing,to appear to be muscley, but people arent stupid and laugh about you behind your back.
31-40:You could wrestle a heavey goat to the ground but whats to brag about that.
41-50:You have the strength of an average man...with hard trianing you might make it in the army as a guard but dont count on it
51-60:You can beat up 1-2 guys on your own and your a bit tough but your still no Arlik.
61-70:Your quite the minor hero..rumor has it that someone saw you kill an orc with your bear hands.
71-80:You could walk into the army but you like the fact that they keep begging you to join....espeically as you beat all of them in any feats of strngth.
81-90:People have asked you to become the local blacksmith as no-one can match your strength in the area.
91-100:You could slug it out with an ogre..in a boxing match and still win...such is your strength.
101-110:Most monsters who face you end up having their limb being torn from their body..indeed some people cant figure out what monster it was...since not much of it rmains.
111-120: The king himself has considered having you to be his personal bodyguard
121-130:You are a lengend throughout the kingdom!!Arlik and Rothbarg(sp?..the barbarian in the books in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />)who be proud to call you their friends.
131-140:Arch demons and dragons fear you..this explians why the knigdomis so peaceful.
141-150:Even the gods admire you, they treat you as an equal..they even have a place reseved for you when you reach heaven.

Here are both agility and constitution,i am also going to do modifiers/personalistion in the next set of ideas.

Agility
0-10- You can barely move your hands and legs, people use you as target practice.
11-20-No one allows you to touch anything, you keep dropping or knocking over thngs
21-30- You cant even catch a childrens ball, your friends called you "dropper" behind your back.
31-40- WHile most people can aviod an enemy charging at them, you do so with considerable difficulty and often come out the worse.
41-50-An average reflexes for an average person
51-60-Slightly fleet of foot, you can avoid some blows aimed at you.
61-70-The assassins guild have sent spies asking if you will be willing to join.
71-80- the proverb " In order to kill me you have to catch me" aplies to you...big clumsy ogres cant touch you
81-90-Scaling any buildings or trees are not a problem for you,it comes in handy escaping from people trying to catch you.
91-100-You can leap/walk from branch to branchof any tree...you make tarzan look like a novice
101-110 Forget about big clumsy ogres, most people cant even touch you, save for the most expert of assassins.
111-120-You can avoid arrows fired by several acrhers all at once becuase your body is so flexible.
121-130-Both the assassins and the theives guild want YOU as their head...this explains the recent number of gang memers bodies being found in the back streets.
131-140-he king wants you to train is soldiers in return for the title of "sir" plus land and gold.
141-150-The gods themselves have been slightly impressed with you,you will lead a very prosperus after life.

Constitution.
0-10-People often mistake you for a zombie, your eyes are sunk in and your skin is yellow and usually peels off.
11-20-People avoid you like the plague, some think you actually have it....
21-30-You look like you have the bad case of the flu,you prefer staying in bed then to do any work.
31-40-People thnk you are a lazy so and so but you just down have the endurance to do a full days work.
41-50-Like most peple you dont eat enough vegetables and so your of average health.
51-60-While your endurance is slightly better then most your no Otho.
61-70-You dont often fall ill, your more active than most.
71-80-Because of your tough consitution, some wealthy merchants have expressed an interest in hiring you as a bodyguard.
81-90-You can work as twice as much as an average man and still have the energy to go out on aother adventure.
91-100-You can join the barbarians guild if you wish, you have clearly spent days in the wild.
101-110-You feel you can look after yourself in the harhest of climates, this sense of versitility has served you well in your adventrues.
111-120-You toughness is matched only by the dwavres themselves...so is your drinking which doesnt go down well with the dwarves....
121-130-You dont even notice some injuries and heal remarkably quickly..rumor has it you are either half troll or half vampire
131-140- matter what kind of damage is inflicted upon you,you just keep on striking until either you or your enemy is dead.
141-150-Your skin seems to be made of dragon hide...becuase of ths and your excellent constitution, you are virtually impossible to kill..no one will be bothering you for a long time.

Thats it

Thanks for that people...im afriad to say i suppose i "used up" my ideas on the other board but that should be no excuse..i mean after playing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> i sould be full of ideas...

Ok im going to do the magic part later...for today im going to do scenery and how the game screen hopefully will look.

I know i jump around on ideas alot...but i write the ideas as soon as i get them.

In <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> we had for a large part..forests countered by huge dungeon areas and adding to the mix some towns, cities, deserts and a part of rocky mountain.

In <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> we had lava, small portion of desert,a large area of inside a building and dry earth. In the battlefeilds we had a range of scenery.

In looking back I think that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> had more of a balance.
I would like to see hopefully the same sort of mix, maybe having one area set on the high mountains and 1 area in the snow.

Also it would be interesting for weather changes maybe in towns/populated areas only...say randomly generated days where there is rain, sun and times where it is incredibly windy so even if your not moving...you do actually move slightly...that would be fun.

Now about how the main scren should look....since this is 3-d...i still think that the toolbar(is that the right word) at the bottom of the <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> screen can still be used.
Navigating through this toolbar you would need to use the arrow keys and then press enter...you can alternatively use the appropriate hotkey.
Then mouse the obviously would be "active" and you can do whatever you want.

Now when in non-combat mode and you click on an empty beer mug..its as if you are holding the beer mug in your hand. Now say you see a beer barrel..and walk up to it..it will glow white and touching the barrel would fill the mug with beer.
The beer would the go into your inventory and clicking on it would mean that you have drink the beer.
Also small objects can be used on one another if you drag them in your inventory just like in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />.

Hmmm next time either i will do the magic personal triats..or why summoning dolls should not be in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> 2...or a background story to <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> 2

My own suggestions (more in my own thread when I'm through <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> ) :

- I'd like to see some Ranaar, maybe a small enclave.

- I want to be able to us mushrooms again ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

- More receipes : What happens when a mushroom is mixed with a alchemy plant from Nemisis (accidentally brought through seeds by the "two adventurers" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> from <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> into Rivellon). Funny results could occur ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> (Remembers me of the early Asterix book with Miraculix gone mad <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> ) And - does it need an alchemist to cure these "funny results" ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Maybe you could say i'm crazy but if I could choose how DD2 could be, I'd want it to be like <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> because personally, I prefer way more DD than BD. It's been 3-4 years since I have DD and i'm still playing (trying to discover everything) and it's my favourite game. When I bought BD, I played like for a month and returned on DD. I just don't like the way skills are brought neither classes and the environement... like I mean I liked it more in DD: the quests, the world, the Npcs and all the rest so my choice would be a DD style game for DD2 and thats what I have to say.

Heres the personal traits for intellegence/mana.

0-10- If you annoy a wizard you will be dead before you can say the word "fireball."
11-20- When you atended magic school, you always came last and forever had to wear the dunce hat.
21-30-Whatever magical training you had,it is limited to deja vu or the occaoinsal stroke of luck.
31-40-You do have a sight ablility of telekenisis but ae no mach for a young appreintic wizard let alone a normal one.
41-50-You know a few tricks such as how to control small animals and conjure a small fireball, you could work as an entertanier travelling from town to town.
51-60-You could apply for an apprentiship under a senoir wizard, you have smepontential but would hae dfficulty controlling a large beast.
61-70- While stll not a master wizard, you can summon and safelt control a normal spirit.
71-80-Normal people are begining to notice you,you can now cntrol the elements fairly easily ad peple cross to the other end of the road slightly in fear of your abilities.
81-90-You can transform yourself into any living animal, this comes in useful when fleeing from strong foes.
91-100-Mages themselves are staring at you in slight awe,its rumored that you might take ove one of the magical deperments if you keep this up.
101-110-Your psyhic powers are very good, enabling you to read your opponets mind, thus making you a difficult enemy to deal with.
111-120-Zandalor himself rates you as a great wizard.
121-130-You can safely summon and conjure 2 arch demons at once and make them dance like fools in front of you!!
131-140-Not content at making fools of demons, you can successfully teleport to the netherworlds and hassle demons there, coming to little harm.
141-150-Even Damien is rumored to fear you...what are you waiting for???
Finish him off!!!

Next time...necromancy and mercenaries.

Ok my home computer is slow and im too lazy to walk to the library...

Its not often i get excited about my own ideas but still,i really like the mercenery stuff.

First of all necromancy

I have to say that i never really liked summoning dolls very much,i agree its fun for them to gain levels ,e.t.c,i siomply felt that it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> skill system was fine on the issue.

Skills which i would suggest.
1) Summon rats...similar to <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> but the rats are summoned for a particular length of time, they attack but do no damage and the monster cannot kill them, rather they are just a distraction so that the player can attack without being attacked by the monster.
All monsters have to focus on the rats.
Increasing this skill..lengthens the time the rats distract the opponenet.

2)Summon skeleton- same as <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />

3) Summon skeleton conjurer- This is a level 10 creature which will can summon 1 further skeleton on its own. It also have a better attack/defence than the normal skeleton and can cast level 1 fireball.

4)Summon demonic aide-same as <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />...the demonic aide can heal itself and stun an opponent.

5)Ressurection- Level 1 means that you can summon creatures upto level 10...they will only be at 50% of there original abilities.
Subsequent skills raises the level by 10 and the % by 10.
Therefore the best you can obtain is to ressurect a level 50 oppononet at 90% there ability.

6)Equip creature- this requires a bit of explanation....the coulor coded items are necessery here...in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> we had white, grey, blue, yellow, green and gold.
Now if the creature was a level 10...it can only wear white..again each 10 levels the creature can only wear the next corresponding coulor code.
No creature therefore can wear a gold item.

When you invest in a skill you can equip the creature with any 1 item except rings or amulets. Every time you invest a skill your creature can wear one additional piece of armoury/weapon.

7)Reduced spell damage and resistances-Investing in this skill increases these abilities to 25% damage done to the player. Each skill point increases this by 5%.

Thtas all for necromancy, now lets consider mercenreries.

In my previouis ideas i have said that you can only join 2 guilds. If you complete certain quests for the guild masters, you will be able to hire a mercenry. You can only hire one mercenery per guild at one time so the max amount of mercenries you can have is 2.

Heres where it gets interesting.

When you hire a mercenery, you will have to pay a certian price which goes directly to the guildmaster. But the mercenry needs stuff to keep him/her happy and so this will come out of taking (automatically) stuff which the player adds to his inventory...be it treasure from a monster or picking up treasure found in a barrel.

E.g some want 10% of gold found, some would want only healing potions plus 1% of gold found, others just want gems or food plus 5% gold...it all depends on the mercenery.
Now there are 3 typs of mercenries, cowradly normal and brave.

Cowardly meceneries will flee if their hitpoints go under 50%.
Normal ==================================================> 75%.
Brave merceneires will fight on until death.

If a mercenery flees they will run a short distance away..if you survive the fight, you will find them cowering behind a barrel...muttering something like please forgive me.....

It is not always that the brave mercenries ask for more treasure.

When you come to the buying mercneries screen...you will see the name, price, type and what treasure the merceneries demand in order for you to make a decison.

If a mercenry dies then it can be ressurected only once by the guild master...but after that it remains dead...You can of course purchase other merceneries but the price will be slightly higher as the guild master will not be very pleased that you got one of there mercenries killed.

At any time you can release the mercenry from your service...The mercenery will go back to the guild whereby you can if you wish enlist their(or another mercenry) help. The prices for hiring will be cheaper since your mercenry came back alive and the guild master will be slightly more pleased.

Next time The Seer and Auras...a small idea which is worth mentioning.

The Seer- We met the Seer breifly in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />(it was a one time meeting where she sees you and complains of blinding pain.) but now she is well revered and has her own tower. The Seer works alogside Lucien and warns him of impending danger.
In addition she can(to some extent)read someones future and for that reason she is usually frequented by the common people.

The Seer can grant auras i.e a permenant glow which will help you in your journeys.
In order for you(the hero) to place an arus on you,you need to have one of the following requirements
1)10,000 gold pieces
2) A reputation of over 75
3) Do a quest for her.

Once you satisfy these requirements she will grant you an aura.

You can only choose one and it is permenant..so choose wisely. No mana is required for the aura to work. Apart from aura of nature, the others will work automatically.

1) Arua of fear- if you are fighting 3 or more enemies at a time, one of the enemies will by scared away.

2) Aura of nature-allows you to see through the eyes of any tree, plant or animal-basically you look aound and select say a sheep- now you wil be able to see through the eyes of the sheep where-ever the sheep may choose to wander. You own body will become inert and unattackable BUT you do not control the sheep...this makes a good scouting aility.

3) Aura of trust- this one is for those of you who dont like difficult quests- When talking to people you are able to gain their trust and therefore they wil tell you secrets...this may include quest spoilers or where treasure may be buried.

4)Aura of evil- this will convert one evil creature against your enemy.

5)Aura of the paladin- Will blind one enemy for 10 seconds.

6) Aura of the magi- doubles mana regeneration rate.

Ok next time special potions and Disease.

I really hope that Larian is keeping a close watch on this thread.... cause i see some BRILLIAN ideas here!!!!!!! (but i am sure they are tapping some inspiration from this <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> )

Keep it up, its really brilliantly thought out <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've had rather philosophical ideas ... too deep to mention here. I once sent them to Lynn via PM, but unfortunately she replied that due to legal reasons she couldn't pass them over to the rest of Larian.

The thought I had was then : How do I post a great spoiler here without ruining everything ? I couldn't find an answer for me. I mean, even with the spoiler-tag it can be read ...

Alrik.

Lady Rain: Thanks..not to barg or anythng...but i have some ideas on the <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> forum on suggestions thread..althougth i didnt start the thread...i proud to say that it has 5 stars on it... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Having said that i am finishing my Disease theory..which should be ready for tomorrow.

I still havent thought of a good story for after <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> which bothers me greatly.

Alrik: All that needs to be done is for you to sign a discalimer stating that when you submit these ideas you have no financial interest whatsoever...the reason they do this is becuase x,y and z would then say that Larian stole there ideas and would want compensation..basically its a legal hassle if Larian do not do this.( Or something to the effect of what i said above)

The reason i say this is becuase i know a bit about the law. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shhh.gif" alt="" />

I dont mind signing one of those disclaimers...hint hint

Wow!! I'm really flabbergasted by the amount of ideas that tragic produced, and ofcourse I'm also deeply impressed by all the other marvellous ideas, it makes my idea maybe look like it's a little dull. But anyway, I'd like to post it.

When I played <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> I took the house of George in Aleroth to store all the things I picked up, to sell them later so I wouldn't be encumbered all the time but though had the possibility to earn lots of money. I also slept there and kept one of my teleporter stones in this house. (And decorated it with the various plants and pots I found on the way, It was actually a really cosy house <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />)
I also had this in the temple of Raan in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> (but it was not as cosy as in Aleroth, but what could I expect being in Nemisis? And apparently there was some other 'human' living in this house that did noting else dan walking the same circle time after time.)

What I actually like to say is that the idea of a house somewhere, is very useful and can make you feel like you're 'at home' in the game.

Maybe DD2 the character could start from it's own house in Verdistis or something like that?

BlackAngel: Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Your idea isnt bad, actually since you have mentioned it..a few things i would like to add..in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> and <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> you can buy a house but yes its a pain to see people in there. Therefore i say that when you buy a house you have the key and your door automatically opens and closes when you enter and leave the house.

It would also be nice to see a bed,a shelf for any books that you might pick up and a chest preferably to store money, charms, jewels and any sort of unique items you may pick up.

Also it would be nice to be able to buy a weapons and or armour rack so that you could store some of you favourite stuff...i found it a bit difficult to leave all my items on the floor outside in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> Ars magicana.

It would also be nice to have a table,2 chairs and a fireplace.
(It would be nice to steal stuff..like pots and plants from other people to decorate our house as we wish....)

I suppose a kitchen will do but please i dont fancy a cellar...ugh they are so damp.

Ok i have finished my Disease theory but im not happy with it so it may be a few days....tomorrow i should have finished my <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> 2 storyline and i think its prety good.

I once wrote an very angry reply (not directed to you) about this "legal stuff". I mean that it is sad to me to have EVERYTHING to be outlined against legal things ... have lawyers nothing else to do ?

With all of this stuff it would have never been possible to do what we did in the early development of "Project C" : Tossing ideas around, often with the devs, with no idea of "scalping" at all ! All we did was giving our ideas away ("FREE !") with the intention in mind to get <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> into a better game - a game we would also like <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> Not to mention my "Wind Voices". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> I gave this text to Larian without any economical idea/intention in mind. Doing so seems to be weird/insane/criminal nowadays, with lawyers assuming that *everything* people do is simply driven by a greed for gold.

Sad times. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

But Alrik, you can't really blame the lawyers, since everything THEY do is driven by a greed for gold <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />.

hi,

I just finished Beyond Divinity and loved the game very much. But the end-fight was absolutely boring! I had a good melee-weapon and hundreds of health potions and made it by just hitting Damian, ignoring his minions and drinking health potions.
Therefore, I would suggest to come up with a more sophisticated end fight for DD2.
