I know I will sound very dumb but ...
I find myself confused with the acronyms that people use here. So I am going to list them all out here for my personal use <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
You are welcome to make additions and changes <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

AFAIK (Raze's pet start) - As far as I know (As far as I guess) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />
NWN - Neverwinter nights
DD - Divine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> (everyone should know that) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
LOL - Laugh out loud
RON - Rise of nations

CoD is call of duty....

We don't use that much IIRC, I mean, AFAIK the only person who ever uses them is always AFK, but TDMM in a forum.

And NOW is the time for Lews to explain what they mean...

Hey, I've just been playing guild wars for the past 12 hours, with about 3 hours to eat dinner and watch a crappy movie, I can't explain right-zzzzzzzzzzzz.

It not easy for me too if everybody uses the acronyms but I simply ask what it means and if no ones answering I ignore them. But it's still kinda funny to watch everybody using their own acronyms and still think that anyone knows what they ment... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> LOL!

Net Lingua - listing of common acronyms and abbreviatiations.

Acronym Finder - type the acronym in the search field, and get a list of the possibilities. COD, for instance, has about 20 definitions, from Call of Duty through Cash on Delivery and Cause of Death.

I once had big troubles as I found the word Asap in an book (handbook ?) about a LucasArts game (I think it was TIE Fighter). My dictionary didn't show it ...

Only a long time later I found out that this means "as soon as possible" ...

mMn is my favourite Acronym (maybe it was dveloped here) : "meiner Meinung nach" , meaning basically the same as imho ("in my humble opinion").

@ Wallace -> You don't sound dumb at all. With all the acronyms floating around
here, I think it is a very good idea. A place where the common and not so
common acronyms used around here can be posted is a very good idea. I needed it
a long time ago, but never thought of this. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

@ Rincewind -> Wow! you come up with some of the best information for me. I think
the Acronym Finder you posted the link to will be getting alot of use from me
for awhile. People are always throwing acronyms at me in emails and alot of them
I have had no idea what they meant. Now I won't have to keep asking what they
are talking about. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> You must be a really smart person and one loaded with
useful information. Thanks so much for the links. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Yeah, Rincewind, thanks a lot for the links. I put them in my favorites, so I can find them when I need them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

Shantara & Galadriel > I'm pleased the links were helpful... I do keep a lot of reference links, but I'm pretty sure both of these are also buried somewhere in another thread... The subject does come up from time to time. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> Hmmmmmm, Rincewind keeps alot of reference links. Note that. It might
come in handy sometime in the future. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

No, I wasn't. I'm almost deaf on one ear and they feared I might loose my hearing ability completely, so they didn't want me.

No joke.

Sorry to hear that Alrik, but I always learn't to put in earplugs when we are on our shootingexercises.
This is half a joke and half serious <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
