The graphics probably won't look great if you zoom in really, really close, but if it's like the other Larian games, it probably won't be made to play zoomed in. It will probably be made more with a top-down tactical view in mind.

Raggdoll physics in HL2 are pretty flawless (2 dead bodies won't clip, but this is a setting needing to be turned on). Still the models do have clipping problems with themselves.

People today are never satisfied anymore.
How does that saying go... about a given horse and it's mouth.
And about that dog and always finding a stick.
The shots look great.
And that's what it's all about. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Besides, now this is turning into something that belongs in the RPG games section of the forum.
85 to 90 % of gamers prolly won't even notice most of the details. Couse they'll be to busy gaming.

Congrats Larian, the screenshots are beautiful. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
It felt good to see bright & light graphics; not that I don't like dark ones, but it seems to me that there are always so much of it; and even more in RPGs...

u're right on the money, Seth. if i want details, it's not in photorealism or proportionality of things & such but more into the context & relationships (between characters, things, events).

let's just say i have reservation on too much graphical emphasis.

as for interfaces, yes i am not a fan of console interfaces but KOTOR works well. i find it easy to navigate & it is seamless to the whole outlook of the game while large enough to make it easy to see. since Larian is into pure 3D now, i hope they make the interface more effective by utilising 3D capabilities such as variable transparency, T&L etc.

i do hope that the PAUSE button stays in all Larian games as that is the most helpful feature in any situation.

......a gift from LaFille......

Actually, on the Belgian gamesite Arena 51, these screens were posted. One of the sentences in the added commentary is:

Larian laat vandaag voor de eerste keer in hun kaarten kijken, op E3 zullen ze hun next gen engine demonstreren.

Translation: Larian is showing its cards for the first time today, during E3 they will demonstrate their next gen engine.

I don't know the validity of this source, but it's good news, right? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kitty.gif" alt="" />

Hmmm, so I guess not after all. But hey, we got the screens, that's one major update anyway.

Ok let me say *drool*...*drool*....*double drool*... the scenery is beautiful...very colorful but not to bright(easy on the eye as i like to say) and not as depresing as the other games....

I agree it has a sort of fairytale theme to it....but i think Larian has really captured living in medievil times with those shots..and thus the true nature of a rgp.

Yes; it sounds to me as if Larian manages to catch the essence, then it could be a huge step forward ...

They had in Divine Divinity already I think.

@ Tragic

I am shocked by your comment !
I had a lot of fun playing Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity and i really don't agree when you say that these games are depressing.
I understand that some people did not like the dark universe of Beyond Divinity however this game has great graphics and great colours.

Yep and also in Beyond Divinity.

I think that the upcoming Larian game will be in a way different from Divine Divinity and from Beyond Divinity.
But i am confident in the Larian team it will be as great ( or more) than the two other games.
