Dear friends

Yesterday I finally found some time to get connected to Ascaron servers and play Sacred on line for a while.

I noted one important thing : Larian forum members is the BEST companion one could have for on line games. This I say after I played with some strangers who treated me as badly as Ascaron's rules permit.

So this topic is just an invitation to the Larian forum members to join an on line Sacred game whenever they want.

If we can find some time, lets play together and remember the fun we had in the past with Diablo2.

I am good old Lucretia Readhead in Ascaron's servers and I will be very glad to meet you again there. Just arrange the time, and the Ascaron's chat room we will meet in here in order everyone who feels like to join.

We can also comment the game in here, or answer some questions.
See you soon

PS @ Cleg I have not forgot that I owe you.

If you play hard core you will find a much nicer Sacred community after level 20 or so. At least that is the way it used to be.

Hardcore? I didn't even try it. Too hard for me. Will you join?

I'm just playing WoW right now.
Hardcore is no harder--it only means that death is final. You lose the character and all his gear. It adds flavor to the game and as I said there is (at least when I played) a very nice community in hard core.

Ah I wish I could join my dearest friends. But the fee is too much for me... Sorry. I know I miss all the fun but I can not pay for that. Maybe Guild Wars which has no subscription...

Have fun though

i've been seriously thinking of Guild Wars as well since it's friendlier towards players with dialup.

if that ever happens (me joining Guild Wars), i wish to see all of u there. i htink Guild Wars will be nice for u, Luc.

I think you can just dl the client. You can have my cd-key . I have an account on it since earlier, but you can just change the e-mailadress and pass.

If anyone is looking for a group to play GW with let me know I have guild with some friends I played Shadowbane and WoW with...its great...

If you played Diablo 2 youll like it...GW is like a mix of D2 and your average MMO, in towns its like an MMO...you can chat/meet up with people and then when you enter the game world you and whomever you group up with get their own instance of the world so there is no gankers messing with you while you quest...and as an added bonus (those of you that play(ed) WoW will appreciate) when you complete quests you actually get to see the storyline progress and so far the line is pretty good. If anyone is interested you can email me jebeins@stthomas.edu

Diablo was funnier. It took too long to kill creatures in GW. Going from one playes to the other took ages...

doesn't matter, Ube. the best thing i can think of in terms of playing online with Larian buddies is playing with Larian buddies. even the worst online game can be so much fun if u have the right people with u.

@ Ube sorry for the delay in my answer. You are so sweet to give me your pass. But unfortunatelly I have to refuse. The game site I write reviews for have offered me already a pass but it is impossible to download the client. 100 MB with 56k connection will take aproximatelly 5 days.

All the others :
I really want to join for an on-line game in GW but at this period I face some minor financial problems and I am not able to buy the game yet. I hope I see you all soon in there. I really miss the times we all played D2 all together. We had so much fun!

Edit: Spelling mistakes because I do not want to make Nero sad

From what I have heard GW plays surprisingly well on a dial up connection...I mean better than WoW or anything like that would.

Yes Nero that is true. GW support team informed me that the game runs smoothly with a 56k connection. They said that most gamers have 56k connection and they didn't want to miss that great number of sales. So they made the game in that way that 56k connection would not be a problem. Very nice of them even if it was a strategic decision.

@ Ube ADSL and ISDN connection is still very expensive in Greece. I will make a better contract with my provider when the prices drop to more logical levels.

Actually, it should 'only' take 5 or 6 hours. That is still a while, but you could leave it overnight. There are freeware Download Managers which can get a file in multiple pieces (to compensate for slow servers). Most should be able to reconnect automatically if you get disconnected and (optionally) hang up when they are done, and some can be set to turn the computer off when finished.

Raze thank you. But what happens in case of black out if I leave the pc downloading overnight? I do not have a ups and recently in a black out I had many casualties...
My refrigirator, my tv and my pc = RIP. I managed to fix my pc. The rest are dead now No cold water for Luc's coffee
