Thanks for the advice and I am playing Fable first as suggested. The way I play games is slow and steady and I don't leave any stone unturned so I am confident I will get a lot more than 8 hours out of this wonderful looking game.
Thanks again for the input y'all

Hi folks.

Lately I have completed Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Just loved it. (I enyoyed all the series of Tom Fisher's adventures)

Yesterday I have cancelled my subscription to WoW, so my 60 mage and 53 druid are going to have some rest if not retire (I played on Hellscream EU).

Started with Guild Wars. Getting accustomed to it. My inventory is full all the time. Why am I always selling things that I badly need half an hour later.

Still have SWAT4 on my PC. Stuck somewhere in the middle.

Ohh and keeping both PST and Grim Fandango disks close, just in case I am in a mood to start them again

That's it.

Gal, have you played Bard's Tale? It's a really good game, hillarious story and a nice and easy game play.

I played the demo, the gamplay there was too lame for words....

You could ask the German-language section about Spellforce. Marian designed the Orcs of the game, if I remember correctly.

But the story is still hillarious . And you get used to the gameplay, even though the camera is really bad...

Weird World: Return to Infinate Space

I'm slowly getting more and more hooked on this game. You have a space ship and fly from star to star through uncharted space. You have a time limit (10, 20 or 30 years) to discover worlds, collect technology and defeat and commune with aliens. Then you return home and cash in all of your loot for your final score. It takes about 15 to 30 minutes to successfully play a game. There is a lot to discover. I was surprised when some of the "useless" items saved my butt on occasion.

The battle simulator is very nice. While most of the game is turn-based, the battles are real time. There are many ships in the game, several of which can join your cause. An abundance of varied weapons make combat interesting. And the graphics... <drool> There is a large amount of risk management in the game, 1: the time limit restricting your exploration, and 2: deciding which ships to risk in combat.

I paid for the download version yesterday. The 28Mb download comes as an .ISO file, designed to be burnt to a CD. However, you can use something like WinRAR to extract the files to a temporary folder and install the game from there.

HEF, that is one bloody great game! i play the demo every time i have 5 to 10 minuts free at work. super stress reliever & no wonder it won the Game of the Year for Indie Games at GameTunnel, it's extremely addictive. i have to find out how to get me the full version of the game as i just don't have credit card so i can't buy things online. i doubt it's available in stores. maybe i'll get someone to help me out then i'll pay them with cash.

HEF, if u want, we can always discuss about this game as now i know the two of us play this. heheheh! great to know there's somebody else who enjoys this game as i do.

@ Spick & Egin -> great to see u two back here again! Fable must be a great game. to buy it together with Dungeon Siege II at such low price, u're one lucky englishman, Spick. as for u, Egin, hope u're doing great over there. good that u've cancelled WoW so now u have some rest from online gaming. & yet u got yourself into another (Guild Wars). i think u need professional help. just joking! so u like Splinter Cell games? i think u appreciate games like Ghost Recon as well.

@ Gal -> Legacy of Kain has a very good story but it's part of a bigger story so that means u may have to get other games related to this one to continue in its saga.

Glad to see you janggut As for WoW or GW, it seems I am hopeless (there is another MMO I am affraid to even look at - EVE online, what if I become excited in it as well? I do like space sims)

Splinter Cell is one of my favs among Tom Glancy's games. I haven't played Ghost Recon much, but I have played almost all (if not all) Rainbow Six series, and I enjoyed them much. And from other side I do like sneakers like Thief and DeusEx. Do you play such games too janggut?

Ohh and forgot to mention. One game that I played lately, that impressed me greatly was - Indigo Prophecy aka Fahrenheit. It has it's flaws but, the story, the music and general atmosphere were fantastic.
Reminded me Max Payne a bit.

sadly, Egin, i cannot stand FPS. it's not a matter of preference. rather i always feel nausea coming whenever i see the game screen in FPS especially the movement within 5 minutes. this also means i can never be a pilot too! though i can pilot a Tie Fighter or X-Wing very well!

as for stealth games, i play Commandos. the first one was very very hard but very very rewarding when u accomplish the missions. the second one is the best as it has good balance of difficulty & fun & also strategy. u can replay the missions in cooperative multiplayer too! sadly the third one feels like an action game in comparison to the first two.

i can play third person a little. so long as it doesn't have too much of those icky colours then i'll be fine.

Yay, Commandos. You have incredible patience mate. I tried to play second Commandos once, but I am not patient enough to go through all those steps with clockwork precision to succeed in a mission. After countless restarts, I think I even completed the first mission

Yay! Have you found uses for any of the useless (square) items? I found it worth keeping either the Toy Robot or Sentry Frogs on board.

how come, HEF? are they able to keep Esmerelda at bay? dang i hate that conniving b****!

i sure would love to capture her as i know she would worth lots. u know i peeked in a few files in the demo which are text-based but supposed to be parameters for the game. foudn a few interesting stuff. sadly i cannot find a way to hack the game nor to make it full version (via tampering with the files by editting certain files) since demo is strictly demo. darn it! can't help it, i just want to tweak that game.

have u tried the earlier version of the game - Stranger Adventure In Space? it's available for PC, Mac, Palm etc. i played the Palm version & it was so so so addictive, which is why i can just jump into Weird Worlds demo easily. the graphics are primitive-looking though compared to the newer Weird Worlds. gameplay-wise, WW is more polished than SAIS.

Desperados is something like Commandos. They made a following game with the same style called "Robin Hood". A "desperados 2" is currently in the works and will be 3D, if I remember correctly.

Desperados , sorry, in German.

The game is fully modable. You can tweak it to your desires.

No, not yet. I couldn't remember what it was called. But I've now downloaded it. Let's see what it's like...

I read today that a Star Wars Lego game will appear for xbox autumn this year. Nothing more than a scanned article or ad is currently known. Source : TheForce.Net & Star Wars Union.

@ Al -> oh yeah, Robin Hood i remember as i played the demo before. it's very Commandos-like. it was quite a nice demo although the full-version can't be found here.

as for Desperados 2, maybe it's worth checking out once the demo is out.

@ HEF -> oh yeah! now i will definitely keep those until maybe after i explored every system out there then probably go trade-crazy & collect all the 4-star & 5-star items for high score.

by the way, have u ever found a 5-star weapon? the best so far is only the 4-star particle vortex cannon. maybe it's not featured in the demo.

No, the Particle Vortex Cannon is definately the best weapon in the game, particularly with manual aiming (hold the mouse button on empty space.) In the other two game modes, Science and Freighter, the value of different item classes are scaled. Ship technology becomes cheaper and lifeforms are worth more.

One more tip, Have you ever taken a Zorg (the guys on the main menu) along in your fleet? Notice anything new about your travel options?

I tried the first game, Strange Adventures in Infinate Space. I wasn't as impressed. The game felt too short and based entirely on the luck of the layout. That demo wouldn't have sold me.
