my guess: the interaction with items
no, i think using and manipulating objects should say the same, IF the things that you can do with stay the same. like you have games where you have like 20 things you can do with the object, but in DD its easy:
click on it-> use it/pick it up/....
dragging it->placing it somewhere else/combine items

altough i sometimes had some problems using the teleporterstone. i wanted to put it in my inventory but accidently used it, altough i dont know how you could change that.

[color:"orange"]my guess: the interaction with items [/color]

That is what I took it to mean. If you see a chest, you can open it, it is not just painted onto the background. I liked in DD/BD that you can move chairs and plants, light or put out candles, fill empty mugs from a beer keg, etc.
I played the Sacred demo and most of the chests and barrels could not be opened; I found a large pentagram in a house, and tried to light the candles to see if anything would happen, but couldn't interact with anything.

The game could use Ctrl-LeftClick (or Alt/Shift) to pick up an object regardless of the default left click action, or have a hotkey to pick up all nearby objects.

I see
Well now I have a clear picture of what you're talking about, I agree strongly. The way one can use all these items makes up for a very 'lively' feeling as far as the background is concerned and that is, as you say, a very good thing.
Another one to remind yourselves of Larian

that WAS something pretty lame

Isorun and Raze are right.

Right now we have a 2 item interaction system..that is only one item can be used with another.

It would be interesting to see if you could make a 3 way item interaction thingy.
Like you have flour. You mix it with water. It becomes dough. You use the dough on a fireplace. It becomes bread.
Heres the fun part..you need to check the dough at regular intervals...if you dont the bread may burn and be unfit for eating!!
It would be nice but it may be asking too much of Larian.

Also(becuase im reading Hary Potter) It would be nice to have books which help you make wierd and funny potions(not necesserily for combat or to help with on quests) but a potion like "orc head" where when you drink it all friendly people have an orc head instead of a real head(you still cant attack them though without losing reputation).

Of course the effects wear off after time!!

Again nice but maybe too much programming

spacey.... but you need to keep the book with you till a certain intelligence or till youve done the potion a couple of times and remember it.

And macbeth, where you talking about sitting on chairs?
WoW, Mu and a couple of other games i played

I hope you enjoy it, but maybe you also take to heart what we would like to see again? *hint* *hint*
(Especially the cats! )

i finished the 6th one at the end of the vacation. it made me very curious about what will happen in the sevent, but whatefe.
like in harry potter, the book with the evil spells, if you could use those in DD cutting someone open with invisible swords, blood everywhere(ohh, that will be the most spectacular scene in the 6th movie of HP).

maybe you could add scrolls, like spells you can use once or a specific count.
like scroll of summon skeleton: the same effect as summon skeleton skill, just that you can use it once and it disapears or summon skeleton (level 3, 4): that would mean: the third stage of summon skeleton, and you can use the scroll 4 times.

but it are just ideas

allright then: it would be cool if you would have left-handed weapons! and special combos for double weapons. like the blades of Legolas in Lord of the Rings. or the weapons elektra has(tiny tridents), or two different kinda weapons, endless combinations.

and shields that fit on your arm, i mean tiny round shields wich leave your hands free for other use(like lefthandedweapons). ofcours these would not have a high armour rating, but maybe just a little armor bonus.

Not that I want to rain on your parade isorun, but the topic is 'what would you like to see again in DD2, not simply 'what would you like to see'

The thing I liked most in Divine Divinity are the surroundings, that in the game there are many things you can do, and theres much humour in it.It gives you many possibilities and... it's great fun!
