You ppl will not remember me, but "I am back" is always a nice line

I used to be more active in Divine Divinity and I last logged in this forum over an year ago

Now I am playing Beyond Divinity and I bet that blessed Raze and others will be all ready to answer my stupid newbie questions.

To start with how "long" is BD as compared to DD? What game did you ppl like better?

This was my first online forum. And after all this time it still remains my best online forum

hail to thee, Wallace! how fares Gromit?

oh yes, i remember u. welcome back & hope u're doing alright.

as for gameplay hours of BD compared to DD, well i have no idea as i don't clock my time on those games. still, best to discover the game yourself & just enjoy. & the part of which is better - well, each has its own good & bad so it's also very hard to differentiate.

whatever it is, BD is a godo game so when u play it, best not to keep comparing it to DD. just enjoy as it is.

Yes... comparing won't be fair. I still getting a hang of numbers (lvl, experiance, strength, mana etc.) in DD though.

The math appendix of the Beyond Divinity Strategy Guide contains a description of the effect of the primary stats, as well as some general suggestions for stat point distribution. The experience points required per level is the same in BD as it was in DD, though you will not reach as high a level by the end of the game (ie 30 rather than 50).

Thanks for the guide

The idea of combining several elements in one elemental strike is good but the mana cost is too high. It seems the warrior class is most suitable in this game. Though I have made my guy a wizard but I am training in archery!

The start of act 1 is easier played as a warrior, though once you get up a few levels you can start concentrating more on mage or survivor attributes, if you are so inclined.

More powerful (and mana efficient) spells, particularly shaman magic, start to become available in act 2. Archery is still a good backup though, for when you are running low on mana or are fighting weaker opponents and don't need magic. Also, a non-lead archer set to aggressive (right click on the portrait) will automatically attack enemies that come into range, giving you a a bit of warning of their existence and direction.

I have the already started missing the old functionality of the Alt key. In BD it highlighted almost all kinds of objects with which one could interact, but now it only shows the items we might want to pick and skips things like secret doors etc.

Welcome back !

Personally, I didn't like the Battle Filds much, but they are good if the charaters are in need of money and items.

To me, the world as such was a bit too big.

You don't get bored... you actually give up.

I remember Alrik and Janggut too. Good to know that they are still hanging around. People like them are immortal (on such forums at least) and people like me ressurect from ashes. Also people like TheDivine come back in next avtaar

I was actually amused to see that my old login and password still worked!

Actually, I was recently thinking "what might he do now ?", since I remembered my old Orkut account. Haven't logged in there for ages, because there were so many glitches. Has it become better in the last time ?

oh yeah! i totally forgot about Orkut since it was quite buggy & such. wonder if it gets any better since it's under Google now.

@ Wallace -> don't forget people like Raze, Kiya, Barnabus, Xanlosch, Barta, Lady Rain etc etc.... . they're more or less the backbone of the forum as well with lots of support for gamers needing help/tips. me, i'm no immortal.

Orkut has got better but I think they have suspended our accounts due to lack of activity (unlike this forum where my account wasn't suspended).

@janggut-> That goes without saying. I bet that Raze, Rain and all are used to high praises, thanks and complements by now and mostly take them 'for granted'. What wonders me is where do they get there never ending motivation from?

Nahhhh, you are JUST as immortal i think you are one of the people that make SURE we keep on coming back.. you are the emotional support here without the people who makes us WANT to come back the whole time, we would be driftwood in this forum... our accounts suspended for inactivity

@ Wallace
Nah, we dont take anything for granted... and our never ending motivation comes from 3 things....

1. Games we absolutely LOVE....
2. Created by a company who has 100% of our support, and who tried very very hard to make it in the big bad world (and i think HAS succeededand will continue to grow and become an even bigger success.
3. People on the forum that makes us want to be the support pillars.

I too like larian a lot. I saw the pictures of the new game they are goig to make and can't wait till they launch it. In fact, I will wait till they launch it and then upgrade my computer based on the which graphics card performs best with that game.

Their game concept is truely RPG imbued with magic (my judgement based on exp with BD and DD). However... (I think I will say the rest in suggestions section. Is there some section where I can say what I want in the next game? )

What's that number? It can't be the number of threads or posts on this forum.

Where is the signing pen ?

Yes, now as Lady Rain writes this, I realize it as well : janggut is always there, a good constant in the forum. Not a bright shining star, but I'm SURE the people would moan if you would go, janggut.

You are quite a back-bone, too, even when you're rather a "silent backbone".
