Hmmmmm english + flemish....

even i will fit in then....

But i will be the one to speak flemish with hair on it

Afrikaans might be the closest language to flemish, but it will still sound like a farfetched-dialect to most.

I must still go visit that part of the planet again.... (after my studies and exams are over)

I don't know.

Just wanted to post a saying that just popped into my mind :

It's professional to send it in BOTH languages.

According to whom?

It was said that the Larian team is multi-lingual... and most of the time they speak English... and the job opening is in English, too. So, the best would be to contact them in English and not in two or even more languages.

I contacted them in Dutch, and they also responded in Dutch, so it seems to be no problem.

No, I didn't miss your name but it would be really interesting to know on what your assumption is based that it's professional to apply in BOTH languages.

Dutch and/or English is fine. But I sometimes review applications for programming positions, and I can read english faster. So if it is for a programming position and you don't have it written yet and wonder which language you should use, pick english

And don't hesitate to put the focus on your personal projects, that's one of the first things I look for.

Oh yeah, and send a few relevant samples of your code too.

Hey guys, I'm back. I'm going to be sending in my resume but since you guys want a cover letter too, I was wondering who reviews the art applications so I can address it properly? Thanks!

When it doubt, just start your letter with "dear sir or madam". There's not just one guy or doll reading it

So, you are still hiring dialog writers? More than 3 months after the job opening?

Most of the time, we speak English. Or try to, in my case.

At least you don't have the french [nocando] accent that I used to have and which made laugh everybody ...

Hello Barta . Nice to see you again.
So, are you waiting DD2 as everybody ? I think it will be great to have some new screenshots. I hope the development is going fine but I'm pretty sure we can expect a great game as Larian is used to create.

I am curious about this as well. I have a few more questions if you are still hiring:

1. Do you hire outside of Belgium? More specifically, would you hire an American who is more than willing to relocate and go through the visa process? I speak a tiny bit of French from high school, and my English is okay too

2. You ask for text samples in the job description, would you be willing/able to look at Neverwinter Nights 1 or 2 modules? They are short and purely done as examples of writing (and scripting) for my resume.

3. If the answer to question 2 is a no, would submitting a play or two (not of the fantasy genre) be sufficient? If not, I am happy to write another piece in a format and genre of your choosing.

Thank you very much for your time.

Dan

I'd be submitting my resume for the writing position if I didn't live all the way on the other side of the world. But, c'mon...can't I e-mail it all in?? I'm reeeaaa-aally good with deadlines....

*bats eyelashes*

hehehehehe

Writing dialogue for a GOOD RPG has been something I've dreamed about since I was a gawky teen...instead I got sucked into whoring my love of writing out as a journalist...*sigh*

I guess speaking french would not help a lot.
Except Drealmer, the Larian people don't want to speak french.
If i were you, i will learn quickly dutch, german and russian.

Hi Yann
I was surprised to see you back in the forum after 3 long years.
You look to feel fine and i hope you will jump in the forum from time to time.

Yep i am waiting for the next Larian game but i think it will not be released before 2 or 3 years.
Do you remember our bet about the release of Riftrunner (Beyond Divinity).
I am still waiting for the box of belgian chocolates i won.
