About the name of the next game, i don't understand why everybody calls this game "Divine Divinity 2".
The Larian guys did not like the name "Divine Divinity", why would they use again this name for a new game ?

I actually liked the name I thought it was a neat twist on English.

Larian has said there would be a multi-player component in the next gen game, though has not released any details. Unless the movie really gets into the MM part of the MMORPG game Archlord, any multi-player game with some form of server to allow people to meet and form parties, etc could fit into the plot.

Well, since I probably know more about autism here then most others, I feel I should say something:

They didn't even have to use an MMO.
Any good rpg with a deep world/story would suffice.

Though the major reason *why* they would've decided on an MMO is because he would have at least *some* contact with other people.

The general idea of BenX kinda reminded me of .Hack//Sign...

Well, I didn't see the movie yet(maybe i'll buy it on DVD) but he's being bullied by two guys, and you get this flash into archlord where you see him and the two other guys.
I think they chose an MMO because of the other people also becoming characters in Ben's view on the world.

The original name for the game was 'Divinity: Sword of Lies', which the publisher changed. I joined the old forum shortly after the game's release, so wasn't around for that. I don't specifically recall anything from one of the Larians on the subject, but everything I've read indicates they were less than thrilled with the new name.

Thanks for this history

Is there any official statement from Larian about the coming name?

There has been no official statement on the name, and AFAIR not even any hints on what it may or may not be.

GRRRRR... To CDV: Don't change another product's name without consulting the developers. Hmmm... I wonder how they'd like it if they were renamed to The Dancing Cow or something similar?
