Marian Arnold used to be the lead designer of all the ancient Larian games, specially Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity, and it seems that he is not the Larian's lead designer anymore.

I really appreciated the artwork of Marian in the Divinity games and i always say i am the biggest fan of Marian in France.

I am so disappointed and so sad.

There really is no need to be disappointed: Marian still works for Larian, doing a good job as usual.

Lar (Swen Vincke) was lead programmer and project leader, Marian and Andre were lead artists - at least that's what's in the credits according to moby games (don't have my manuals with me right now). So.. no worries. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Having a dedicated lead designer can't be a bad thing either, on the contrary!

Oh, and designers != artists. The former design the game: what's happening when and how and why and where. Artists on the other hand make the shiny graphics. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kitty.gif" alt="" />

As the wise feline Arhu points out, Marian is an artist. That is not the same job as a designer, something he never was. So again: rest assured Barta, he is still doing his thing, there's no need for crying smilies. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kitty.gif" alt="" />

Right, Barta. you mixed that up. I used to be lead animator. But since I'am working on a freelance base from home for years now I don't have the overview anymore which you can only keep if you are working in the Larian headquarters inhouse. I don't regret this decision btw.
So I was an artist and I still am. The only thing I could claim in my high age is the "senior artist". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Your are right and wise.
I made a confusion between "lead artist" and "lead designer".
I had a look at the manual of Beyond Divinity and i did not find any "lead designer" in the credits. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />

I know that you are a freelance artist living in Germany not in Belgium.
I thought that you took engagements to work on another game as you did for Spellforce a few years ago, and that you did not have enough time for working on the next Larian game.
Fortunately i was wrong !
