At the Games Convention 2008, DTP will officially present Divinity 2 to members of the press, here is the relevant part from the invitation they just send out:

We are looking forward to present you Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis for PC and Xbox 360®

It is not mentioned if the game will also be shown in the public section of the GC, but my guess is that is isn't as this presentation is by invitation only.

That is 18-20 august.

Btw does egeo draconis mean "I, dragon"?
PS: New site looks amazing!!!

This is the interpretation which I follow myself.

I believe it indeed means something "I, Dragon", I speculate that the game will focus on the player beeing able to shapeshift into a dragon, hence the title.

In many fantasy novels, lore... Dragons often take on a human form, so this can be the case in DD2. Rather than a human than can shapeshift.

I guess it's about a schizophrenic dragon (present company excepted) as for the ego of the dragon.

But isn't it quite lame to pick a story about a dragon, right after Drakensang? silly wink

Yes but what roll will Will Smith play? smile

I for one can't wait till the first lot screen shots is released or perhaps a trailer?

It seams that the dragon aspect will be front and center. That makes you wonder how your hero will interact?

Like if the hero is the dragon do you hava a wizard dragon, a warrior dragon ...

Food for tought.

Yeah I can't wait for some screenshots or a trailer either.

I just hope that we are not turned into a dragon by a curse and then can't be a dragon anymore when we beat the main story. That would be kinda lame.

20-24 august. The 20th is press/trade only, the other days are open to the "general public".

We'll be announcing playtests soon (read this week) so those eager to check out the game should participate.

Cheers

We didn't mention the 18th and 19th, Morbo added that to his own post.
I have a meeting at the GC on the 20th, I assume Lar is showing the game then. I believe it is in the Business center and not in the public sections, so yes it appears to be for the press only.

You can always post the questions you would like to ask here and I'll do my best to get them answered.

Yes, but that doesn't mean I can't try and point out that it isn't correct, does it? I'm not sure what I've done wrong but I feel decidedly unwelcome here. There's a very hostile atmosphere towards me, and I was only trying to help...

I think Myrthos' post was supporting your post, doesn't it?

This is fantastic news! I've stopped in about once a month for the last couple of years just hoping. When Bioware announced DA:O, I figured DD2 would come soon. The development time has been about the same. Can't wait to get some more news and hopefully screens or video. Cheers everyone smile

I just meant my post as a correction as your post mentioned this:

It wasn't directed towards you, just as a general comment.
