I hope not. If there are only minor consequences for dying, then there is no real suspense in dangerous areas and no tension or excitement during combat.

and does adding drugs to the game really improve the game? xD

Yes, yes it does. It is actually much more realistic to say that over-use of potions can have a detrimental effect. Not mentioning this could be taken as an implicit endorsement of drugs (anything that is wrong with you, you just need enough of the right potions). Drudanae is primarily used in medicines, and as in real life, strong medication can become addictive. George wasn't exactly portrayed as a popular, successful guy in control of his life; he was an addict, in debt to his friends, begging his dealer for credit and pretending to strangers that everything is fine, while trying to use them to get a fix. And then he died.

Heh... I actually thought that the drudane part was a good touch. It'd be awesome to see some after-effects of consuming far too many potions. Addiction, death or other negative side-effects?

Right now, death is permanent, for the reasons mentioned in Raze's post.

at divinity 1 you had several races to interuct with. the most importent races are:
elfs, dwarfs, lizards, orcs, imps.. and humans.

in divinity 2, will we be interucting with them again?
will we, by any chance, be able to pick a race for our charecter?
will each of the race have their special features that will be unique? (axe and beer for dwarfs, bows and wine for elfs, for example)

and in divinity 1, we were able to sleep any where, and even take over houses with a sleepable bed.
how about divinity 2? would we be able to "settle down" some where?
or will it be the advanture rpg it seem like, and "settling down" is out of the question?

also.. the teleporting pyramid.. one of the most importent div1 item.. any comeback?

The only playable race is human (male or female). You can customize the look of your character, but I don't know if any of the selections will have some 'elfish' looking features, etc. There are no significant differences between male and female characters due to the already very large conversation tree; a selection of different races would have increased that exponentially.

There will be a place to settle down. A French review mentioned a battle tower where you could train and upgrade weapons (it was a brief reference in a babblefish translated page), and Lar mentioned this tower in relation to the new inventory system (but without any details).
In a suggestion topic some time ago where people were talking about buying/building a mansion or castle and possibly upgrading it, Lar said there would be something like that in the game. I'm guessing these two places are the same, but they may not be.

The screenshot with the sign pointing to Verdistis was not from the game, but a test area created to check the graphics engine. Verdistis may still be in the game, but the sign doesn't necessarily confirm that.
