You can buy cans of compressed air in some computer stores, or places that have a computer or electronics section. Commonly referred to as canned air, there is no actual air involved. It is a spray can with a long narrow straw to attach to the nozzle, filled with liquefied difluoroethane, trifluoroethane or tetrafluoroethane. The only brand name I recall off-hand is Dust Off.
I've also seen (at Future Shop some time ago and Staples relatively recently) a handle and nozzle designed to take standard size CO2 cartridges. Of course they warn you to only use their brand refills since regular (and cheaper) cartridges could contain trace dust or oil.
A small air compressor (like an electric bike pump, etc) could also work, if it had a nozzle or setting with an appropriate size and speed airflow.

These are special cans you should be able to buy in any decent computer or electronics shops. The advantage of these cans over a vacuum cleaner is that it has a long, thin tube that concentrates the flow of air into a small stream and that you can easily fit in between your circuitry. The downside is that it blows away the dust, so you still have to pick it out in the end.
You can even use this can to clean the crums, skinflakes, and hairs from between the keys on your keyboard.

Hello, everyone, CrossOver, based on WINE, is only today (28th of October, 2008) free for download available - but it must be registered. More here: http://down.codeweavers.com/This package is meant to more or less enable windows applications to run on linux and on the Mac. I'm planning to try it out on my Ubuntu system. Alrik

Playing Warcraft, my computer suddenly crashed. The screen became completely black. Maybe some Direct X files are corrupted. I try to make the tests for Direct Draw and Direct 3D, but the computer crashes again during the test and i get a black screen. I would like to install Direct X again but it's impossible because i can't get rid of the old files. What can i do ? I am too lazy for uninstalling Windows XP and installing again everything on my computer. Thanks for the help.

You should be able to uninstall DirectX either manually (link also describes how to do a clean re-start of Windows so you can just reinstall DirectX) or with something like DirectX Eradicator (neither of which I have tried).

Perhaps you could try reinstalling the screen driver / graphics cards drivers, too ?

Barta, can you switch your graphic card with a similar? It could be possible that your graphic cards has a defect.
