I agree to that. Belgium should have its own CE, with the box printed in both languages. wink

I doubt 100K copies is enough. I don't know what kind of sales they need, but assuming the cost of development is a few million, I would think a minimum of 400-500K is needed.

100 k it's a reasonable number, let's not exagerate, afterall we talk here about how great it will be divinity II, but how do we know that? everyone has he's different expectation from this game wink

Is it?
Let's do some quick math. 100K games selling at 50 Euro makes 5 Million. Deduct from that the retailer margin, distributor margin, cost of production and transport fees. I'm not sure about the percentage left for DTP but my guess is that it's about 30%. Especially if you take into account that for the English version it will be published by a 3rd party who also needs a margin, then again it might be more in Germany. Anyway, with 30% the revenues for DTP it sums up to 1.67 Million Euro.

You can look it up on the internet to find out what the average development costs for games are. In this case even a cross platform game. An 8-digit number is not uncommon. Even if we assume that the cost of development for DTP was a lot lower and my estimate of 30% is incorrect; 100K copies sold won't ever be enough.

I do however have no inside information from either DTP or Larian on this, I'm just extrapolating what I know from some other developments.

Well...it's pretty low number if you ask me...
For example: A game named Arcanum (not many have heard for it) have been sold in 234k copies.
The thing is that this game had a big piracy problem because it leaked before it's official release date, was released around time when Diablo was released too(!), and again, it's not so known among gamers. But still it reached 230k! And that was many years ago... Nowadays we have all the gaming sites, forums and s...tuff that will show the game to the masses and there is no chance that this game will be sold in less than 500k copies. Number of sold copies of Oblivion is measured in millions (forgot the number...).
But then again, I might be wrong... laugh ...yea right... I'm never wrong...

Very good, I like the mats, when i go shopping with my girl those mats seem very familiar, let's say we go and I THINK we will spend 20euros, but afterwards I check my wallet and surprize we've spended 80. We will see about Divinity II, I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT ! AND IT SHOULD SELL MUCH MORE THAN 100K! Good luck with this game, and I hope we will talk about it only as a great game after we have tried it, or finished it.

GO LARIAN! smile

I would actually buy it.
If it is anything like teh 'German CE' then its a must buy.

It seems our voice needs to be heard, english speaking fans. So...

"We want english CE! Again - english CE, not german - that soldier-office-toned language!" biggrin

Game seems promising and I'm interested in CE with all the stuff. But you can be sure, Larian and dtp, that I will NOT buy standard english version and further german CE.

Sorry for my emotive message (I have nothing against german language). I just needed to "raise a volume" of my message. :hihi: Im not sure if (bad) joke about german language is the right way to promote english CE, but funny way is also the way. crazy

I wish I knew how the Czech language sounded, then I could make a joke about that smile My guess it sounds like Russian?

(And I'm not even German.)
