Anyone else have this happen to them?...

I noticed it right before I began to gather the council. I had checked the old forums, and found some answers to some quests I hadn't completed (like Shrimpy...) I was on my way to mop these up..Actually, it was outside the graveyard that I first encountered this... I was moving along, and a corpse enemy popped out of the ground. It was right there, on the screen, so I didn't need to glance at the mini-map to see it. Well, I clicked on it, to attack, and it brought up one of the conversation strings where you engage a friendly NPC while having your weapon readied (you know, like, "Put that away, or you'll hurt somebody...")I looked at the mini-map, and saw that this guy was listed as green, like a friendly... Anyway, I thought that maybe it was just because I had cleared out the local 'cursed' quests, and that, maybe, now the undead were at rest, but that, in the game, it would represent them as 'friendly'. Anyway, I continued on, to gather the council. Well, when I got to the council hall (where you meet the Succubus), I began to wonder if maybe something was amiss, when all of the 'lesser' enemies in the area (the mummies), where friendly towards me. However, the Succubus herself was still hostile, it was just her cronies that loved me... Moving on, when I attempted to bring Mardaneus to the council, and had to clear the village of orcs, all the orcs were friendly, but whats-her-name (the boss here) was hostile. It was a real pain to kill those blasted orcs, since, if I would try to engage them normally, my reputation would drop (after all, I *was* attacking friendlies...), so I had to use my explosive arrows, to kill them without actually initiating combat. Well, I sorta quit after this, because it was messing up me being able to complete some quests. Like, the one where you enter that 'dream world', with the bees and wasps. I sided with the bees, but the wasps that I was supposed to kill were friendly to me, so that, when I reached the end, the queen bee told me that I hadn't killed enough wasps, and didn't give me my full reward...

Killing me with kindness...

(sigh) Anybody know what the status of the next patch is, and even if it addresses this crazy bug?

I've never seen this bug before. The next patch was supposedly to be released 'any day now', but that was a little over a week ago.

Tarjan, just a guess from Barnabus:
Did you use the spider statuette? He's never had your bug, but says it resembles the spider bug(undead, orcs, mummies? stay friendly). If you had shapechanged into it before: Try the statuette again and then switch back to human by right-click, maybe it helps.

Which version are you playing, please?

When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.

Kiya, thanks for the input. I've got the spider statuette, along with a couple of others, in my inventory, but I've never used any of them. Hmmm, as far as my unreliable memory serves, I didn't do anything particularly different around the point when this occured than how I had been playing up until then. Oh well, guess my character is just too lovable...

BTW, I'm playing with the latest patch (v1.32, off the top of my head, right?)

Try using one or all of the statuettes to switch to animal and back to human. Since that changes your alignment with various creatures, maybe it will re-set your human alignments, even if the statuettes were not involved in whatever caused this glitch in the first place.

PS you can run faster as a frog than a human, even when encumbered.
