There are great bastard swords in the game.
I always got mine before I left for the wastelands though.
Mostly from that smith guy (Geoff?) in the merchand area, and the smith in the dwarven halls.
Some of those swords have the same qualities (- and even better) as those two handed swords.
In one game I even collected as many as possible, just to check them out.:)
Maybe you can get some from Kroxy? Check his inventory at different times.

You're right there are extremly good bastard swords in the game, I got this when I was about level 15, (I forgot where). It did me well for ages.

so, how does this reloading thing work again with weapons?

You save before runing you're mouse over it then have a look at it and if you don't like it you load again.
And do it over and over until you like it.

does it only work on magic items or any item? can i change a nonmagical item into a magical item this way?

This works for any item that has randomly generated properties, or chests with randomly generated contents, etc. Hitting the alt key will set an item's properties (or an NPC's trade inventory), in addition to running your mouse over it.

Most ppl are just to fixed on getting those two handed weapons I guess.

No that's not normal; a rare bug can put excessive bonuses on equipment. There was a similar set of boots and something else posted in the old forum (the bow was the first).

Yours are believable, in an unbelievable way. Six figure numbers do not belong on anything apart from gold and experience in this game. Those weapons are a bug.

Interestingly i picked up the sword of the gods too but mine had less damage i think it was 50-71 yet had 4 charm slots which i quicly filled with Very Large Charms ....just interesting that the same named sword would have such differences....good to know

oooook i have a sword of chaos which dpes about 112 or 107 max dmg , should i stick with this or go for a 100 sword with lots of addons????

I'd drop about 10 maximum damage for 'lots of addons'. With slightly less damage you might have to take an extra swing for some fights, but a couple good bonuses would make up for that. This is particularly true when switching from a two handed sword to a one handed sword; you would get additional bonuses on a good shield.

I actually found lots of weapons that were potentially better than the Sword of the God's one i used but they were all two handed and i am afraid i will not give up my shield ....NEVER!!!!!!

I would rather take longer to kill a creature than be killed because my defense wasn't high enough A shield is invaluable for any close combat fighter.(especially when you can put skill points on your shield to use it as an aid to combat) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I felt that a two handed blade worked much better for me. Why? Because with the two handed blade I killed an enemy much faster. True with the shield I can absorb more damage, but the with the two handed the enemies were usually so fast dead that they couldn't hit me more than once.
