well i know about the story of a young girl, when she was 16 she wanted to have a tatoo, why? because she didn't liked her parents and wanted to be a little anarchist. She was a "hard" woman , always fighting and do "tuff" things
she dicided and 1 day she made a tatoo on her hand between thum and the other one besides that
it was a japanese horoscope sign. but now after 4 yeras, she realised how stupid she was , because the blue colour went verry "vage" into light greenish. and some parsty were almost invissible. And everybody sees her tatoo, she don't like annymore.
moral, tatoos are things you like on that moment, but after some time, mostely have regretted themselves . put a tatoo on a place everybody sees, and you make it hard for yourself Afterwards.
But now she is planning to have a tribal tatoo on her back
Well, if they ever inverted a fullproff technique of placing tatoos and remove them without scars , i take one.
i don't like the word "permanent"
and another, try to go to an totooer who is capable of doing these things!

I know another story when i was party on the beach at blankenberge belgium. you have aplace with some tatooers.
i see a group of 5 young men inside the shop, it was verry late 1-2 o clock at night. and one guy was totalypissed from the booze. he put a tatoo on, probably forced by his so called friends. but what the day after ???? regrets? to late for that! you can merry , regret it, en get a divorce. a tatoo is better then mariager. you stuck with it!
moral, do tatoos when your sober and think about it clearly!

another story:
my aunt and uncle were maried. my unlce has tatoos all over his whole body, on his knockels he has skulls, on his neck he has the head of a eagle and there are places i even wont mention
but he and she made a tatoo of there beloved on her /his arm, i give 2 fictional names. bob for her and Lynn for him.
now they are divorst, and what now??? stuck with the name of a woman you probably don't want to se annymore? and what if you find another woman or man?, they redo the tatoo by putting a bigger one on top of it. making the tatoo way to mutch big...

moral, mary a girl with the same name as you,
unless her name is bob ofcours

another story:
i met a boy about 22 years old in new zealand; he had lots of tatoos on his body, almost all tribals. there were alot of them who were "miss" "wrong" euh in dutch = mislukt.
i said what happend here? "oh that?" he sais, me and my brother once get a tatoo kit from someone and we experimented with our bodys !!
i said did you tatoo alot of people? yes I did about 10 people, but sometiems it failed.
can you beleave that? 2 brother with no experiance what so ever just experiment on there body with permanent inkt and screwing up the bodys of several other people? crazy kiwi

your friend can get the one on her hand re-inked if she wants...
there are a few good rules to go by when tattooing:
1- don't get a band tattoo. unless you're in it, and you're really good.
2- don't get someone's name tattooed on you, unless it's your child or a tribute to someone who has died.
3- never get a drunken tattoo. ever.
4- once you have your design sit on it for a few months at least. carry it around with you and look at it a lot. make sure you still like it after staring at it everyday for a while.
5- don't let anyone talk you into anything stupid. that includes the artist.
6- don't let your friends practice tattooing on you, unless you know for sure that they will be good tattoos.

btw- bean, your stories are good, but i need things that happened because of a tattoo, not a tattoo that you or someone regrets.

Actually I knew another chemist who burnt off a tattoo he hated with concentrated sufuric acid. Left quite a mark as you can imagine.
Moral-never let idiots get tattoos, even if they seem reasonably intelligent....

I could never get one myself as I'm adverse to pain. My tattoos are on the inside.

Faile, I don't think this is what you're asking for either, but...
I saw a TV Special on a young lady who had gotten a tattoo around her 'belly button' and was now going through the 'removal' process. It was painful and would always appear different from her normal skin. It was basically a tattoo on top of her old tattoo with more flesh tones.

So another rule is never ever put a tattoo on an area of your body that changes shape a lot. Sorry guys and gals, your tummy is definitely an ever changing landscape.

Can you imagine what it would look like when she got pregnant?

[color:"yellow"]Bean [/color] Great stories!

The only place I've ever considered a tattoo would be my ankle - a rose or something very simple; but, I always change my mind - I can wear an anklet if I need to - and that I can always take off.

I never got a tattoo and nothing happened to me because of it.

I'll ask my friends your question, and post an answer here if they have one.
