After such a good reply to my last post on the depleted mines post I am back for more help. I am near the top of the lava platform and can see another teleporter in the distance is it worth it? I cant find the second switch. Does this lead to it and is it worth the time and frustration ( I hate platforms ) can I kill Barnabus and is it necessary?

Yes it would most likely be worth it. His hammer is a very good level for low 20's. The platforms are not that hard on this one.

There are 3 teleporters in this cave, two of which have generators that need to be disabled (though it would be better to clear all 3 before fighting Barnabus). One teleporter is high up, on a ledge with a dragon skeleton, one is on a mid level ledge and the third is at ground level.

It is not necessary to kill Barnabus (aside from a quest to do so, which is part of a larger quest), but like Niner I would recommend giving it a try. There are some moving / sinking platforms in one of the sections, but no disappearing ones, and the required timing and coordination is much more forgiving than the platforms in the depleted ore mine. With the sinking platforms you just have to keep moving, and even if you miss a jump there is time to try again.
There is a dragon skill book by Barnabus, and he drops a pretty nice one handed hammer when defeated, as well as a ring and another potentially good quality random item (and another hammer if you mindread the demon Razakel). I used Barnabus' hammer for quite awhile before being able to upgrade to a better weapon; that and another hammer I found shortly after made a significant difference in the amount of damage I could do duel wielding.

For the platform section, from the walkthrough:
1: leap across a series of falling platforms
2: climb the ladder
3: use the moving platform to access a lever that activates a teleporter
4: Drop down and take the teleporter
5: navigate several more moving platforms, then climb another ladder
6: time your next jump carefully - the next platform also sinks
7: jump from the sinking platform to another moving platform
8: jump up to another teleporter and step inside
9: hop down a series of platforms in the corners of the room
10: flip the lever
11: wait for a moving platform to emerge from by the door, then jump against
the wall and fall onto it. Good kitty.

Did you get the switch at the end of the platform section?

The other one is on the ground, to the left as you face the generator surrounded by lava. The key for the locked chest in that area is on a shelf between some bars along one of the walls in the cave with the other generator.
