Is it safe to manually install the fix for steam users? I know how moody games can be in steam if you update them manually smile

I tried applying the update and I have the English STEAM version. It would not apply. It said it didnt match or was a different version or the game wasnt installed.

*sigh*. This is really upsetting.

Thank you for this.

Gamers gate version installed with no problems.

Is there any way to see what frame rate you are getting in the game?

Yes. In globalswitches.xml set the render_framerate flag to "1"

Some digital distribution versions (such as Steam) have their own system for releasing patches, hotfixes etc... If you bought your game through one of these vendors, then you will not be able to install this hotfix. We are working on getting it distributed through those services.

They would call us suicidal for releasing something so fast - here's hoping it doesn't blow up in our face wink

I believe you made it clear in the forums about the risks encountered while playing with "things" laugh

I set it to 60 and wow! can I see the difference. It's sort of fluid and smooth now.

One question, I can see 3 numbers, white, red and green, which one is the fps, they all seem to be around the 60 mark.

Once more, thank you Larian for your excellent customer support. hug

The patch is optional and the risks associated with changing settings are clearly stated so suicidal or not, you're doing the best you can for us and its appreciated greatly.

Wish there were more out there like you guys.

Would it help in the long term if people sent in dxdiags along with a status of whether the MaxEngineFPS setting worked?

Installed hotfix and is working like a charm. constant 60 FPS, everything fluid and extremely fast. No Stuttering, no screen tear, nothing wrong.

No need to say, i'm over the moon. Best €40 i've spent in a longgggggg time.

I have the steam version so I know I'll have to wait a bit, but I wanted to say thanks for this patch.
