I want begin again the game, as a warrior, but I am dubious if it's better upgrade the two-handed weapons discipline or sword and shield discipline.
I would create a powerful and resistant warrior.
Thank you for the answer!

I have to say I was a big fan of the two-handed sword for the first time ever--I usually hate it as an option in videogames. The one thing you may wish to bear in mind is that by doing so, you're effectively halving the number of charm & enchantment slots your weapons can carry, so last time round I chose dual-wielding instead, which you may wish to consider as a possibility.

You give me an interesting suggestion...
I played rpg fantasy videogames for years, and I never used a warrior with a weapon in each hand.
I 'll try it ... I' ll feel like a samurai rpg005

First time I played it, I went for two handed and found the game very difficult to beat, but I managed to reach the end (ego draconis, there was no FOV by that time), with FOV, I decided to try another approach (mostly because I wanted to remember every character I may or may not encounter in the add-on) and create a new draconis specialised in dual weapons and I found the game very very very easy. So, for me dual weapon > two handed.

However two quick notes : I think I have better spent most of my skill points on my second attempt and I heard one of the latest patch for ego draconis have changed some game mechanics on two handed, but I have yet completed the game when it was released.

I've been wondering the same thing, but hadn't considered that dual-wielding may be significantly more powerful - in spite of my previous post! ouch But whatever the reason (or "all of the above") I found this play through significantly easier (and, for me, more enjoyable) than my first due to not dying constantly. Which is always a bit of a drag.

There is absolutely no drawback to dual-wielding in DKS right, I mean even with your default one point in the skill you get a 5% bonus to attack damage from your main-hand weapon. Adding points simply ramps up the damage in the offhand, from a penalty to a bonus.

I suppose I'm used to the post-BG2 infinity engine games where dual wielding caused significant main-hand penalties when the character was unskilled in the technique.

In DKS the way enchantments stack there's no reason other than personal preference to not use it...

Bow & arrow FTW!

I'd like to close by quoting Bellegar's famous last rhyme:

"Cursed be the mother that bred thee!
The wench must have been a hell-spawned banshee!"

Skills can be changed with nothing more than a quick trip to the trainer and some gold (which you should be rolling in anyway, I finished FoV with just over 400k). I'd say use your best weapons regardless of 2h or 1h and change your weapon specialization accordingly.
