http://www.adrian-smith31.clara.co.uk/autosave.dxg - this one is before cutscene so might be easier than one above.

Well I don't know HOW you did it but I am certainly grateful. Thank you!

"Trick was to take out biggest group of enemies and lightning towers with the nuke."

Please pardon my ignorance but could you explain (in a simplified way) taking out enemies "with the nuke"?

How specifically did you do this?

I know I pressed all the various spell keys (1-6) at intervals but none of them were ever even remotely successful.

How were you able to keep the dragon alive whilst launching your offence at the same time?

Whilst I controlled Dragon his lifespan was never more than aaprox.40 seconds

Well I completed the game thanks to your help.

I played the first save

I eliminated Ygerna and Behrlihn myself

I had plenty of potions and the character was well armed and I trained him well.

I did have a question;

What eventually happened to Ygerna and Behrlihn after they were terminated?

like I said to you before, if you keep moving even when your attacking then you won't be an easy mark for the computer.

there take a look at that

My character was constantly moving but it still wasn't enough

I had to stay with the zeppelin which moved very slowly

Going away from the zeppelin gave me a prompt "I was too far from the zeppelin"

I played the polar opposite of that player

I played casual

looking at someone playing nightmare would not have helped me

the difficalty does'nt matter the strategy is still the same, you asked how he did it & I just showed you how.

That's how you do the escort mission on all difficaltys not just nightmare, you go ahead of the Zeplin so it does'nt get bombarded by the balistas.

you summon your wyvern ally to take some of the pressure off you.

You only use the Nuke spell on clusters.

If you were to stay with the Zeplin you'll fail every time because the Zeplin will take too much damage & it won't survive the final stretch.

The 'nuke' is the Wrath of the Patriarch spell (the only level 1 skill you have). It is used like any of the other skills; get close enough to highlight a nest or tower and hit the assigned hotkey (as long as it is not during the cooldown period and you have enough mana).

Just pressing various spell keys isn't quite as selective as you need to be.

Ygerna and Behrlihn presumably took a one way (this time) trip to the Hall of Echoes.

Like Divine Avenger said, the techniques that work in nightmare mode are the same things that will work in casual. The difference is that that casual should be more forgiving of mistakes and less than optimal strategies.

Yes but the problem was that my Dragon could not sustain virtually any damage

Once he was hit that was it-quickly dead

So I'm wondering how Arokh was able to keep Dragon alive more than a few seconds?

Were Ygerna and Berhlihn confined in a sort of cage or prison once they went to the Hall of Echoes?

Were they considered dead or just in a cryogenic-frozen state?

LOL But I killed Berhlihn and Ygerna.

I believe Behrlihn was not actually killed

He was put into the cryogenic freeze (where ny character was frozen in) earlier in the game

I did that ending too. It does not say what happened to Berhlihn presumably as you say he was left to rot and stayed that way.

Aida - I completed it in one go, didn't die once. I used the 'nuke' aka wrath of the patriarch (mapped to 2 on your game) on the big groups and lightning towers. Healed using healing spell when health got to around 50% and used shield a few times. Used wyvern as a distraction when going through the nests & groups of ballistas to keep some of them off me. Kept moving to dodge ballista attacks as they do the most damage to you. It's just a matter of strategy of attack rather than just pressing spell hotkeys randomly. Keeping ahead of but not too far from the airship is the way to do it. Don't bother ordering them to attack targets the npc ai will do a good job on it's own. Ship health was around 25% when stage complete. I also had had a couple of pints of beer before playing it - maybe that helps! smile

I completed aida's game to see the alternate ending; my guess Yagerna died for good & Berhlihn was imprisioned. Prehaps Larian have plans for him to be in Project E?

Arokh,

Do you believe Ygerna would have had a large treasure with nice weapons and armour and stuff?

Possibly but I bet it was lost when her fortress was destroyed - you might not have seen this as it happened at the end of the air battle. Basically the airship carrying the eye of the Patriarch (bomb in other words) crashed into the tower blowing it up. Damien was not there and will return in Divinity 3.

Question for Raze;

Would there have been any survivors of the Airship carrying the Eye of the Patriarch?

Would they have been able to get out in time?

The explosion took out the remainder of the fleet of Black Ring flying fortresses, so there were no survivors from the zeppelin itself. The crew could have bailed out early, though, while the captain stayed at the helm. Presumably zeppelin crews would be even more concerned about falls than dragon slayers; if they couldn't learn how to control a fall from dragon knights before the war or slayers after, they could have developed their own levitation system for emergencies.
