As befits an alliance, it's clear that some of the units are from a spectrum of Rivellon's races. Some are pretty obvious, others less so. (Feel free to clarify this, Jan. wink )

Trooper: Human
This unit's lines are pretty generic, so it could only be a human.

Grenadier: Dwarf
This unit is obviously drunk. Clearly it must be a Dwarf.

Shaman: Elf?
Elwyn thinks it could be an Elf.

Warlock: Possibly a pair of Imps?

Hunter: Maybe a human?

Armour: Lizard, perhaps?

Devastator: Undead
This talks about death a whole lot. Must be an Undead.

Imp Fighter: Imp
It's in the name.

Bomber Balloon: Undead
This also sounds like an undead.

Zeppelin: Human?

Transport: Elf
"Engines running at an eco-friendly pace, hope we don't hit too many fish, won't that use too much fuel?" - Has to be a tree-hugging Elf.

Ironclad: Dwarf
"Dwarfs on a ship? Who would have thought!"

Juggernaut: Lizards
I have to give watser credit for pointing this one out. It has a bit of an odd voice, but doesn't talk enough about death to be undead, and has a bit of arrogance? Lizards.

What are your guesses?

My guess:

Shaman: Elf

They were the ones really promoting the health care in the "Let's Play One Turn of Dragon Commander - Uncut" video^^

I can add something not about units
It seems that voice of dictor belongs to the same actor who play Maxos or maybe it`s Maxos itself

I will add that the prerequisites to being a grenadier I've notices so far are: dwarf, drunk, has a daughter.

I've been thinking about the warlock a lot. Judging by the way the imp fighter talks, I'm having trouble seeing the warlock as an imp crew. Their lines make sense for imps, their voices/the way they talk make me doubt it a bit.

Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

The units are supposed to say something?

For me they are completely silent!
I played almost exclusively the campaign map against AI opponents, but that can't be the reason, I guess.

However, now the complaints about annoying voices begin to make sense.

So the question is, why don't I hear something?

To me it's a background chatter I barely notice (not enough time to divert attention to it).

You mean you've never played a Skirmish mode with the AI set to none, if only to see what all the units can do?

So far not, no.

But anyway, what type of unit chatter should I be hearing?
Confirmations when giving them order? Random lines? Death messages?

Those humans! Their genericism ( think) always gives them away!
Correct!

Right-o!

Elf or human, could be either really.

Pair of bat-crap crazy imps, yes!

She hugs trees so intently they've complained to druids about non-consensual intimacy. So yeah, an elf.

And yet it's true!

Lizards sounds about right.

We didn't always specify, so when it's not completely clear from the text (like the Zeppelin), feel free to imagine what you like best! smile

Thanks for the reply. The alternative possibilities you suggested tended to be my second guesses.

I might go with the first guesses, because that gives each race 2 units. I suppose the 13th unit is probably best as a human.

Shamans, Hunters, and Zeppelins all do kinda work as either human or elf (Mustard Gas doesn't seem terribly Elf-like, though, so I guess they'll be the Human's third unit).

Either way works, but on second thought, I think the Shaman sounds more Human (with his sarcasm) and the Hunter can be the Elf.

Lizards as the Armour matches the theme of Juggernaut. A good damage unit with a tough hide that is good against all kinds of ground units. (And there isn't really another good spot for Lizards to go.)

Undead for the Devastator and Bomber Balloon makes sense because those are high-explosive weapons designed to pulverize targets - which is important when the targets have no soft flesh vulnerable to nasty shrapnel wounds.

I'm already loving the bits of the Rivellon Times that I've seen. It'll be a delight to read them all in the full game.

I've never heard anything such as a voice, so far, be it on skirmish or campaign. Probably a bug, so I report it.

Also, some musics are slower than usual. If it's intended, to reflect the slower pace, then please reconsider the modifications, because it doesn't sounds right now (to me).
