Hey I testet the alpha in coop mode with a friend.
I as a mage he as a warrior or knight.

two things we noticed.
1. From the beginning the mage has by far the most powerful attacks...
As I bought some spells in the city like storm/tornado/chainlightning...
I did 90% of the dmg.
He as knight did only good single target dmg...and only after we gave him a stolen sword from an npc. Balancing???

2. Where are the npcs / traders for knight and other melee spells/skills?
.....are there some in the alpha.

we played around 5h and he has zero new knight skills...I bought 6 new spells.

Ps. If they make a good bug fix and more/harder difficulty levels this game will be the BEST COOP rpg ever. We love it

Knights use the same skillbooks as warriors, bought from Aureus in the barracks.
Rangers skillbooks are bought from the Arrow Vendor on Cyseal market.

remember this is a classless system. so, knight, ranger etc. are only "templates" or pre-sets. any char can learn any skill (if prerequisites are met, of course).
so e.g. knight skills are simply "melee"-skills and can be bought from melee-trainers, so to say. there are no dedicated class trainers (like knight trainers or warrior trainer or ranger trainers or mage trainers etc.)

ps.: balancing is still being worked on. so, some skills are OP. thats alpha ;-)
will be balanced in the end, though.

yes i know but (until now) it seems that the melee and bow attacks should be a bit more powerful an *lets say* spectacular.
The mage elemental system ist great... its such a fun with the combinations.
Will there be swords etc with effects later in game... like a sword with chance to freez or something.

Because without such things all non-magic chars seem to be a bit boring compared to the spectacular magic part.

These exist. I had a sword that had a chance to electrify. Also there are elemental essences that you can get that you can add to a weapon to give fire, water, air, or earth stats.

There's also a specific ranger skillbook on the doctor (whose building is just "beneath" the arrow vendor).

Does the doctor have it every single game, or is it random loot?

It's the resurrection skill book (I thought it was appropriately placed), which is now a Ranger (survival) skill. Is it not stocked on him in your game?

No, you're right, he does seem to have it in all my games. Some NPC's can get things in random loot that aren't always there, so I was just asking.

He's on the second floor of the Barracks. He might look like a large white cat.

Dear All

I've seen on this subject that, apparently skillbooks can be bought in Cyseal

Aureus in the barraks don't propose me to trade

Traders in market place too

The only characters I've had the possibility to trade with was the girl with witch spells in Cyseal Inn

Do you have the same problem ? Shall I have to do something ?

For information I've finished the quest of Jack's murder

Thanks

There is a little trade button underneath the portrait of the character you are talking to. Click on it to open the trade interface. It is NOT one of the dialogue options.
